No, you didn't.

Paying for something and not getting it is getting screwed. Getting a broken phone and not being able to exchange it is getting screwed.

You were disappointed. It sucks, I'm not saying it doesn't. But 'screwed' is hardly accurate. When there's 200 people in line for 100 tickets to a show then 100 people aren't getting tickets. They weren't 'screwed,' they were just unlucky.

Seriously? How many posts did I see of people staying up all night trading jokes and "Tis the night before launch" lines (funny by the way) how many countdown widgets have been posted? Remember everyone throwing a fit about the guy that said it was available early as a joke?? We are all on a site dedicated to this phone yet so many people are acting like its about as important to them as a pair of fuzzy dice. Sorry but I gotta call BS!

This guy was up late (or got up early) just like many of you and tried over and over and over to log into the system getting just a tiny bit more frustrated each time and when he finally crossed that finish line the the rules were changed. He is most likely a bit calmer now but at the time I would have lost it for a little while to. Their is NO WAY he is alone in his disappointment.

Having said that.... The reply about the first amendment relating to people being mean to you on a forum was sofa king retarded.

If you have any snide comments to this post keep it to your self jackass :eek::p:eek:
 
I have a strong feeling those responding with "be reasonable, it's just a phone" etc. are all getting theirs on the 24th.

Well, I just tried pre-ordering mine (I still use the First gen iPhone) and it said July 2nd. I kinda got pissed, but its cool. I don't care so much about a phone.

I hope so. I reserved mine for store pick up but have little faith that the store will actually hold anything for me. I better get there early and be ready to be disapointed.

We'll see. I think I am getting burned out on the whole thing and am just going with the flow. I'm meeting some old friends at the store so new phone or not I'm sure I'll have fun.

I do feel bad for the guy that made this post. If he already paid for the phone I dont think he would even have the option to try to pay for another one on launch day??
 
Be nice and Apple will treat you well

So I just got off my 90 minute wait time phone call with Apple once again (they called back and missed their call... urgh)....
They can't do much about the order shipment BUT they were able to give me a free "bumper" for the iphone (its like 30 bucks) and a gift card for iTunes. So that's nice of them. I think I was pretty nice - so maybe its just being nice to them and they be nice to you.

So yeah, I have to wait a few extra days. Kinda sad. But oh well I'll have it soon. And it wil lhave a cool bumper and I can load it with new apps!

Best of luck with anyone who had this same issue! :)

That is the way it usually is here....those satisfied tell those not satisfied to shut up while those same satisfied people turn unsatisfied when something goes wrong and is told by others to shut up

I have to agree that it is just a phone; it doesn't control your life. At least you can be sure than you're not going to be in the first batch where the majority of the issues are.

FTR, I'm on the July 2nd batch.

Nope, you'd be wrong. When I get the iPhone 4 I'm going to get a white one, so in theory I should be more "PO'd" than the op. But really, it's a phone, I'll live.

I get that you are frustrated, but I am not sure that you will be able to show up on the 24th as a walk in and buy a phone. The whole reason Apple.com goes through the trouble of checking your eligibility with ATT servers is to verify that you are eligible for an upgrade, per line. Once you added that iphone to your cart and hit the place order button, your eligibility to buy an upgraded phone at the subsidized price is gone.

I don't think you will be able to walk into an Apple store or ATT store on the 24th and place another order for a subsidized iphone, since you have already used your eligible upgrade by buying online. You may be able to cancel your online order, if you hurry, but that is the only way I can see you will be able to get a phone on launch day.

Of course you will probably have to call Apple customer service, as their online order status doesn't seem to be allowing you to cancel an order.
 
I'm just as passionate about my iDevices as the OP, but I still think it's funny that he's so pissed about a phone. Our passion certainly screws up our perspective!
 
i mean if i preordered and it got changed to another ship date, i would be upset also but not to the point where i would call out apple and say they screwed me or screw apple. hahahaha. its cool man. at least u r guaranteed one. but i knoe how we all want apple products on release day especially iphones.
 
How pissed is this guy gonna be when he realizes that it's not the 2nd, but the 14th now??
 
I understand being excited about getting a really awesome new gadget, and being frustrated by delays, but consider that the early adopters almost always get screwed somehow. You know with all those people activating their phones on or near launch day, the network is going to go haywire, there will be all sorts of problems with AT&T, and who knows what else will happen.

I plan on getting the iPhone 4, but I'm going to wait at least a month depending on how long it takes to work out the kinks, and may even wait until after the September Apple event to see if they make another announcement then (my contract expires in October). My 3G is still plenty good, and I know I'll have much less hassle by exercising a bit of patience.

I find it interesting that after you didn't like what was posted, and touting the 1st Amendment, you want the thread closed. (Which essentially takes their's away)

I waited wasnt sure if i was going to pre order..

then when I decide im going to, its moved to the 2nd had to go to doctors and couldnt get on my phone and didnt know my dads SS,( his account ).

Going away on the 12 of july and figured ok 2nd no prob get it before I go... sadly no. Now im going to have to wait till when I get back, Post what you guys think about it when it releases, any problems etc.

I may wait on line but not sure.
