My :apple:Watch charger is coming Thursday, so I will definitely have my fingers crossed for Friday!

Now if I ordered a charger and got it before my watch, I would probably contemplate hanging myself with it. Lol glad I didn't order one of those! Lol I am kidding guys.

So I was getting nervous. I ordered in the first minute. Still in processing. No credit card charge. I've called several times to Apple only to have them stonewall me and give me no information beyond what I already knew. So I called again a minute ago and simply told the rep that I wanted to know if I was getting my watch on Friday. And that I was concerned because so many other people had received some type of shipping notification but I had not.

She said that my watch was shipping from the US. Not from China. Then she put me on hold for a minute and said it was shipping from PA and because they could not have the watch arrive any earlier than the 24th and I was so close to the shipping location that I would not see a change in status until later than most. That if I lived farther away I would have seen a notification because of the time needed to get to me. (I live 45 minutes outside of DC just off I-81) She said I should see the status change and should have my watch by Friday.

She also said that they sold a ton more 38mm than 42 and the 38 was significantly more constrained. And that a ton of people had changed their order to a 42 after they held the 38 in the store. Therefore, some who ordered a 38 and were put off 4 weeks + may see their watch show up early.

Mine is a 42MM SS Milanese. My wife is a 38mm SS leather.

As I side note...I've been following this thread since page 19 and have been laughing my ass off several times. You people are funny.

This makes as much sense as any post I've seen in here, so far.

I'm going to try not to worry about it and just get some damn work done.

Idk, I live in the Chicago area, logistically close to everything and got my charge and status change yesterday. Nothing takes a long time to get here relative to other places in the country.

Not saying I completely agree that what he was told was true, but to play devil's advocate...

His watch might be 200 miles away, sitting in a warehouse ready for distribution... While yours is hot off the presses in China :p

This was my case last year with the iPhone 6. I was so close that I did not see anything but processing until wed night. I still got it Friday.

I am in Chicago too, was charged yesterday and moved to preparing for shipment.

I have the same experience as yours. Yesterday it was preparing for shipment, but I found it went back to processing items a few minutes ago. That's so weird.

This process is unique to the white sport band SS ...same thing happened to me and seems like everyone else too

Huh. Apparently Apple has an abundance of Blue Band Sport 42mm, since they're selling them to devs for guaranteed April 28th delivery...

Sweet! That's what I ordered. I would have thought they would see the preorders and assemble accordingly. If a certain color was a loser they could switch the faces to the more popular band. Is the packaging tied to the band?

This makes more sense than not. However, I wonder how this factors into us who ordered the 42 mm SS White band and had it go from Preparing back to Processing… hmmm...

For the sport I doubt the band color has anything to do with the outside of the box. From the bootleg images that we've seen (that may or may not be legit) it looks to be a sticker on the side for the exact model. Which would make sense as they do this for the iPhone and different model\carriers.

This is a good theory except that some of the Space Gray 42mm Black band have been charged and flipped to Preparing for shipment. But only very small quantities.

It's starting to look like the reason there are two week delivery windows is because they'll be shipping these in batches throughout that window as stock becomes available.

Really? I thought I saw a lot more who were going to receive their watches on Friday as well. I guess I'm one of the few that is in that "Preparing for shipment" queue.

Ya this is very bizarre.

Two options:

(1) They eyeballed a number of 42 mm SS WBs and then it turned out that they can't fulfill all of the orders for a Friday Delivery

(2) computer glitch and/or user error had us charged early even though our watches are already stateside and aren't shipping from China.

I remain more confused that I have ever been.

I wonder what the total economic damage in lost work time of this Apple Watch launch is? Must be considerable - I mean who the hell can fully concentrate on work!:p

Tell me about it. I scheduled a client for this afternoon so I stop reloading and endlessly waiting for my 38mm SG Sport to be charged.

What doesnt make sense to me about this are people that live near me ordering AFTER me but already having their card charged and their status change where mine has not moved at all. These were changes that took place yesterday.

Maybe they have some more convoluted way of figuring it out, but doesnt seen entirely accurate.

Theirs is coming from China. Yours is stalking you from right around the corner... Its been sitting within 50 miles of you for a few days, taunting you.
Well, at least that's just my theory.
Your order was in earlier so you are getting one that's already produced, close to you, and likely to be delivered on the 24th.
Meanwhile the guy who has been charged and is prepping to ship is coming from the factory and may or may not get to his doorstep on the 24th...
Thoughts?

or maybe cause they ordered after you there watch is hot of the press and shipping from China. Not from a warehouse in your country....

I HOPE TO GOD SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT ... My blood pressure is about to blow a gasket! I'm in the same exact boat, with the exact order as you!

She is pretty accurate. I live about 5 mins away from the Fedex Memphis Hub, and always get a tracking number either late Wednesday or Thursday. I've always received my item Friday morning without issue. Having said that, I'm still a little nervous since none of the other Apple products I ordered had a date range for the delivery date.
