Unless rules have changed, when using a credit card for payment, you can't be charged until the order ships. The reason is something to do with interest charged ... you can't be charged interest on a credit card and have nothing to show for it. Only if you are ordering something specially made for you can you be charged before shipment. And I don't think these watches would fall under that category of "made for you". That would be something that is not a stock item and is customized in some way just for you, such as a monogrammed item, for example.

So, I think all of our orders that are charged and "Preparing for Shipment" will leave Thursday and arrive via next day air on Friday. :)

from your ears to God

I have a feeling this thread it's going to hit the one millionth comment ... And they said the Apple watch wasn't going to create hype they said .... Hmmmmmm ....

⌚️
This isn't really hype. Just mass paranoia from impatient, hardcore fans. Watch, this thread will have a totally different tone by this time tomorrow when everyone has their shipping info. It will slow down.

All companies have different policies. You are not forced to pre-pay and order something. There is no rule against it.

Mine is still processing....

Ordered one 38mm sports pink and one 42mm space grey. At 12:03am. Both watches are showing still processing. Still processing. Live in northern CA 10 miles from Cupertino. Anyone can predict wth is going on?

Maybe some of you have seen this already, but here it goes for those that haven't:

Statement provided by an Apple spokesperson:

"We’re happy to be updating many customers today with the news that their Apple Watch will arrive sooner than expected. Our team is working to fill orders as quickly as possible based on the available supply and the order in which they were received. We know many customers are still facing long lead times and we appreciate their patience."

I've been worrying, but I'm guessing that if they have availability for later orders it is only fair that we get ours on the 24th.

Well, just part of my daily self-therapy while waiting for this watch!!

Charged maybe, but they can put a hold for authorization without sending you anything right?

Yes, there is a rule against it if the company does business with the major credit card companies. I work for an e-commerce company and I was involved with setting up the credit cards years ago. That was the rule then. I doubt it has changed. We can only charge the card beforehand if we are customizing their product. If it is "off the shelf" it cannot be charged until it ships... unless the customer specifically agrees to it. I looked further online and if the company charges you and waits to ship, then it boils down to your loaning the company funds without being paid interest. If this rule were not in place you can imagine how companies could so easily advertise a product, take your money, use it interest free and then wait weeks to ship, all the while having use of your money.

My girlfriend works at ups. Every watch delivered by ups will be next day air saver. So technically they don't even have to ship them until Thursday and they will be to their destination Friday. Also ups has them in their facility just waiting to load them up on trucks to be delivered.

What if we haven't been charged yet though...

You're completely missing the part where there's a level of classiness that doesn't need to yell at a customer service rep about a stupid watch.

Hint: it's not correlated with income.

^^^ This - professionalism isn't conferred by income, but your income can depend on it. If I treated the people around me like this, I wouldn't keep my professional status very long.

Why did Apple even give the Pink Sports a delivery range of 4/24 - 5/8 if they aren't even going to deliver a single one on launch day?:mad::mad:

I'm reasonably certain that mine is coming FedEx. I assume they have a similar shipping option that Apple would logically be using as well, right? Not directed at you, specially, Ryan. Just a question for the Borg.

So many people have been mean on here today. It doesn't help people who are just nervous and anxious to know more information. Not everyone is in the same place in the order status. Not everything seems fair and I know it probably isn't supposed to be because life just isn't fair sometimes.

We don't all have to agree to be kind to one another :) we're all here for the same reason - excitement over the same product! :D

Who said they weren't? You guys have to remember that there are like 50 different models, and they're probably shipping close to a million watches in total. I have a feeling that most of these orders will be shipped and billed tomorrow.

I really hope!! :) It's just hard to keep positive sometimes. My emotions be like :D:mad::D:mad::D

I know about checking UPS for tracking info, but what's the method for FedEx? It won't let me change the date past today, unlike UPS which lets me type in a future date. Only asking b/c I still don't have tracking info.
