If you have UPS My Choice, you can do a shipment release and designate where you want it left (i.e., front porch, backyard, ect). When the driver scans your package prior to getting to your door all these notes will pop up. My UPS driver says if they ignore the instructions they get in trouble.
Just got off the phone with apple inquiring about the fact that my card was charged on Monday yet I have no email updates at all.
He said because it's a debit card it's only a hold on the funds and it has no bearing on when it will ship.
He only stated that it could be shipped anywhere from the 24th to the 8th. At which time the hold will be deducted.
He must of gotten the memo....
So..although the status says preparing to ship Apple is basically hijacking my funds for up to three weeks if it doesn't actually ship out until the 8th. great. Is this a kickstarter???

I've ordered at 12.48AM PT on April 10 the 38mm Sport with white Band and it's been in preparing for shipping status since Monday. Nothing changed yet.
I also ordered 5 minutes later a 42mm SS with Classic Band and it's still processing.
I called Apple today, yelled for 10 minutes, he put me on hold, then I got to speak with somebody higher up. He told me both watches are (100%) in the warehouse in California (I live in Redondo Beach, close to LA) and will be shipped tomorrow most likely. I didn't think is true, but then I got an email from the guy thanking me for my patience, and gave me his contact info and email address.
So there is a chance, although I am not a patient person, and I do not trust anybody but a tracking number!
If you really work in that type of customer service you would never yell at someone else who does the same job. Don't you know we just put you on mute and laugh about you with the person next to us.

My watch moved to "preparing for shipping" on 4/20. No UPS tracking for me because I'm almost positive I'll receive it through FedEx.I think everyone with Preparing to Ship who has also been able to view UPS tracking is showing deliveries for Friday. My UPS says my shipping label is being created tomorrow at 4PM. At that time I should see a Shipped status on my order from Apple

It's just like going to the Apple Store, if you have a problem with anything, being nice will more than likely get you a replacement of a product where as being mean will get you nothing in return.
In N Carolina maybe. In California things work a little different.
I'm in San Francisco and wholeheartedly disagree with you. Being cordial is absolutely more effective than yelling at CS reps.
