I'm preparing to ship w/o a tracking number, so this isn't true in all cases :/

Nobody has a shipped notification from Apple but if you have UPS My Choice if a label has been created it will show you a tracking number. This has worked for many but not everyone.

If you have UPS My Choice, you can do a shipment release and designate where you want it left (i.e., front porch, backyard, ect). When the driver scans your package prior to getting to your door all these notes will pop up. My UPS driver says if they ignore the instructions they get in trouble.

That, and (probably better) Apple has their own signature release form. Once the status changes to Shipped, there'll be a link to it with your order number filled in on the order status page.

Just got off the phone with apple inquiring about the fact that my card was charged on Monday yet I have no email updates at all.
He said because it's a debit card it's only a hold on the funds and it has no bearing on when it will ship.
He only stated that it could be shipped anywhere from the 24th to the 8th. At which time the hold will be deducted.
He must of gotten the memo....
So..although the status says preparing to ship Apple is basically hijacking my funds for up to three weeks if it doesn't actually ship out until the 8th. great. Is this a kickstarter???

I've ordered at 12.48AM PT on April 10 the 38mm Sport with white Band and it's been in preparing for shipping status since Monday. Nothing changed yet.

I also ordered 5 minutes later a 42mm SS with Classic Band and it's still processing.

I called Apple today, yelled for 10 minutes, he put me on hold, then I got to speak with somebody higher up. He told me both watches are (100%) in the warehouse in California (I live in Redondo Beach, close to LA) and will be shipped tomorrow most likely. I didn't think is true, but then I got an email from the guy thanking me for my patience, and gave me his contact info and email address.

So there is a chance, although I am not a patient person, and I do not trust anybody but a tracking number!

It's just like going to the Apple Store, if you have a problem with anything, being nice will more than likely get you a replacement of a product where as being mean will get you nothing in return.

I think everyone with Preparing to Ship who has also been able to view UPS tracking is showing deliveries for Friday. My UPS says my shipping label is being created tomorrow at 4PM. At that time I should see a Shipped status on my order from Apple

My watch moved to "preparing for shipping" on 4/20. No UPS tracking for me because I'm almost positive I'll receive it through FedEx.

...and what if that guy who can do what you need him to do did not do what he said or gave you false information. It does not pay to be mean. Being nice with people will get you so much further.

Exactly. I take calls from all over the country. I don't care where you are from you all get the same treatment. I'm very good at not letting the cranky pants get to me. Just let them vent on mute for a few minutes then be super sweet. They calm down. Then I help them.

Unless rules have changed, when using a credit card for payment, you can't be charged until the order ships. The reason is something to do with interest charged ... you can't be charged interest on a credit card and have nothing to show for it. Only if you are ordering something specially made for you can you be charged before shipment. And I don't think these watches would fall under that category of "made for you". That would be something that is not a stock item and is customized in some way just for you, such as a monogrammed item, for example.

So, I think all of our orders that are charged and "Preparing for Shipment" will leave Thursday and arrive via next day air on Friday.
