Who said they weren't? You guys have to remember that there are like 50 different models, and they're probably shipping close to a million watches in total. I have a feeling that most of these orders will be shipped and billed tomorrow.
I hope you're right!

Charged maybe, but they can put a hold for authorization without sending you anything right?

Yes, they can put a hold but it has to drop off in a certain amount of days. This is the $1.00 they charge when you place any order.... to make sure the card number is correct, etc.

Why would Apple all of a sudden charge our cards .. it has to be because they are getting ready to ship.

Because my understanding, if the status still pending it's not charged yet. This is what hotels do when we checked in. So the definition of "charge" means when it's no longer pending right? Or am I missing something?

Mine acct was "held" for the amount due but it reappeared in my acct recently. Watch still preparing for shipping.

Wait. So stock may already be assigned to orders that are still "processing"?

Someone please know the answer to that and please let it be yes

It's entirely possible. If Apple has been shipping watches for the past month or so like it's been speculated. Then we can assume a lot of the watches ordered in the first few minutes will be coming from inventory already here in the states. This is exactly what happened with many early iPhone orders and a lot of them did not move from processing until Thursday evening. Some even said they got a notification Friday morning.

Depends what you mean by "assigned". It isn't yours until the label is applied to a box but certainly watches are flying over destined for fulfillment of peoples' orders.

Well, if UPS MyChoice acts like it usually does, I should get an e-mail at 12:01 am telling me that my package will be delivered tomorrow. ALWAYS makes me crazy, because it's technically Thursday, but I haven't gone to bed yet, so I always think tomorrow means the same day and not 36+ hours later.

Right!! My 6+ did not ship until Thursday evening... Hope is BACK! :D

Guys just called Apple and they confirmed highly constrained stock of 42MM SS BSB. They advised that most people prob won't get that watch on the 24th. Kinda pissed cause common sense tells me that the entry level SS watch would be popular and would have expected apple to stock up on this model.

I have this strange feeling everyone tomorrow will have their cards charged and shipping notifications. I can feel it for some reason.

Believe my fellow MacRumors!!

Ok. The rep cleared some stuff up with me

First, they know no more than we do. There is no possible way to know where your personal device is...

Second, for those of us in the Preparing for Shipment phase: We are all in warehouses somewhere in the US.

Third, your cards were likely held, not charged. The charge will go through with the email from Apple.

Hopefully this helps some of us.

I wouldn't trust a thing they say. Only time will tell.

some serious douchebag-ness going on here. Dany is probably just angry because minimal wage at his workplace is below 10 dollars per hour. ;)

This is completely opposite of what I was told on chat about 2 hours ago. Lady of chat said there was plenty of stock of the 42MM SS BSB with no backorders showing at all. However, she did not say anything about me or anyone getting the watch on the 24th. She said same 4/24 to 5/8 range which I am sure they were instructed to say. This is not a jab at you mikeb147 but rather to show that we will get a different story each time we contact apple and to not take whole heartedly what these reps tell us. Im sure we will get our watches on the 24th if we are in the first wave.
