1. Supply chain availability artificial and on purpose.
2. All pre-orders that had stock availability embargoed at UPS hubs since 4/17
3. Online order statuses & updates FAKE until credit card charged.
4. Stock availability on purpose to determine interest. Catch up no big deal
5. All this done to generate free marketing and interest

Today is depressing as I finally accept that despite getting up at 2:58am and confirmation at 3:04 that I won't, for the first time since the original iPhone, get my new apple gadget on launch day. I am *that guy* who friends and co-workers go to on launch day or the day after as they know I'll have it. Sad that that cycle will break.
I'm feeling like a jilted lover. Even more aggravating is watching celebs with watches. Also I know that there weren't promises of the 24th, but I do feel like Apple gave off that impression and didn't really backtrack on it until orders were placed. Something about it just doesn't sit right. If they can't meet orders placed with a matter of seconds or a few minutes then they should have been more communicative about that. I know this is debatable but it just IMO.

Mine doesn't have the scheduled delivery date either. I'm sure it will come tomorrow though. I keep refreshing my tracking page.

Finally... today is a great day.
Ordered 38mm SS BCB just after midnight on the 10th.
Order went to preparing for shipment a few days ago. Authorization hit my card on Monday.
Today, I now have a tracking number, a shipment email from apple, a watch in my support profile and the peace of mind that I should have a watch tomorrow before 3:00 PM.
FWIW, the delivery address is in LA/Beverly Hills area. Until the last hour, I was stalled on "Preparing for Shipment" and only found a tracking number today.
Although I feel confident that I can relax.. my heart is breaking for people still waiting for more positive/definitive news. It's been a great week reading all the posts and riding the highs and lows of the emotional roller coaster.

You're a day early. The last item I ordered from Apple, I received the shipping notification at 11:03pm at night.
I really hope the ridiculous idea of Watch cases doesn't stick. Do you ever see people with cases around their $5-$10k watches? Nope. Just get AppleCare if you want some piece of mind.
Both watches still in Rialto, CA. (have tracking info), still preparing for shipment per Apple. I had tracking info since last night, but UPS is still at label received status. I'm getting mildly concerned.

In mostly the same situation, though shipping to Seattle. When did it roll over to shipping for you? UPS or FedEx? Mine is still on preparing to ship...

Best thing I've seen in this entire thread. A company with a $750 billion dollar market cap doesn't make mistakes like this. It's planned!
What is with the forum justice warriors kicking someone when they're down. People are frustrated, let them vent.
I wonder if there's a correlation with the amount of time you are in the prepared for shipment status and the number of times that you check your Apple online order status
I'm not patient OR a man, but I also have a sense of perspective.
I'm bummed about the situation in my sig, but I won't be yelling at Apple CS reps or swearing at strangers on the internet about it.
