I can't image orders for the 38 are anywhere near the volume of orders for the 42, so that isn't too shocking.
If you haven't tried them on, the 38 is VERY small.
I was late ordering too, on 4/16. 38mm stainless steel with the classic buckle.
Estimated delivery was 5/18-6/1 but it's out for delivery right now.
I think they just have loads of classic buckles...?
I think depending on the model some of these are in abundance with the 38mm. The 42mm SS BCB has been one of those models Ive seen a lot of late orders getting filled but early orders getting skipped.
I wouldn't cancel your current order until you see which processes first. I'm not canceling my original order until I get a shipping confirmation.

I just decided to waste some of my time and speak to APPLE.....the rep "reckons" that I will see my watch monday/tuesday. when I asked him about the obvious lack of shipping on the 42mm SS BSB he said there was no known issues......smells a bit like BS to me but let us hope!
Agreed. Looks like every model 42 is backordered to June/July where I see some of the 38 are showing "4-6 weeks."

This is more or less what I got about my model. When I spoke to them about issues with later orders processing first for the same model he told me that everyone I saw on the forums must be in on a giant hoax and photoshopping their screen captures.

yeah, my gf tried on the 42m and it looked like we had strapped an ipod touch to her arm..it was 38mm or nothing.
it'll be a test though to see (see the pun!) if she'll be able to see it well enough over time. If not, I'm sure one can flight it for a bazillion dollars on ebay before the apple watch 2 comes out in August.

That seems somewhat legit...LOL, I love how we're all contacting Apple and then seeing the conflicting stories here...they may want to discuss their "answers" internally first to get them straight and then tell us something consistent...even if it is a bit of BS, we (the customer) just want to feel better knowing that placing an early order and being huge fans of the product is somewhat recognized...
anyone UPS SITE say out for delivery, BUT YOU have it??? i wanna know if the site is accurately updated
They are all done wirelessly now..including USPS....so they are VERY accurate these days.
Signed up for myChoice but it still just says out for delivery, deliver by end of day. Am I doing something wrong? How do I get a time window?

What?! Totally Jelly! My wife and I already have babysitter lined up to see Age of Ultron at the IMAX on May 1 (US release).
There seems to be "A" flight coming from Shanghai/Pudong to Anchorage for UPS. Maybe there's some more watches on it for us Saturday/Monday/Tuesday people?
