I'd be surprised if it didn't come from Ireland, it wouldn't be economically efficient for Apple to ship Apple Watches from China to somebody's doorstep in the Uk, it'll go through their Cork warehouse first

Pretty sure all UK deliveries ship into Tamworth in the UK as someone has said previously on here and out from there. Have tracked many an Apple shipment from Tamworth.

Seems pointless to fly them into Ireland and then fly them out again to mainland UK

From memory, the iPhone 6 deliveries were tracked from China to Germany (& Dubai I think) and then on to the UK.

Ireland never came in to the equation I don't think.

So I was just on the phone with Online Sales (UK), cause apparently that's the only way you can get info on orders, Chat is not available for this kind of stuff.

They couldn't provide any sort of realistic info, nothing that I didn't have already. Furthermore he went down the road of saying it may ship on the 24th but in any case delivery is definitely before or on the 8th of May. Which doesn't really help. I asked for confirmation that it will definitely ship on the 24th and he then said "well it can ship before that date". So from looking for better news, it looks like I poked the bear :)

I'm from Tamworth and my step-dad used to work at UPS and can confirm all the Apple stuff does go through there.

Still, I always seem to get mine at the end of the day!!

Never seen Ireland in any of the launch items I have pre-ordered and that is about 8 devices.

I have seen Ireland when the items are in normal availability or non Apple brand items eg Hue Lights etc.

probably tax purposes.....could not resist :p

Well all these questions / speculations will be answered in a few days. It makes sense to sort and distribute at point of entry to the country.

My money is on what the guy told me (I have to believe that to make it through the week without crying).

Its going to kick off in here once we all start seeing movement. But that most probably wont be for a couple more days. I'm still going to be glued to this forum though.

Damn you Apple for being so good.

All I know is my MacBook Pro came from Cork a couple of weeks ago and it got to me less that 24hours after dispatch via UK Mail

In the UK, my deliveries app is now showing the worst case sineario. 8th May, still banking on 24/4 as ordered at 8.02

But was that a launch item?

If it is standard stock item then, yes, they sometimes come via Ireland.

But I have never seen any of the 8 launch devices go via Ireland and I have never heard of that happening.

Deliveries app people fixed an issue where the date was not being displayed correctly.

Now it displays the "worst case"

Apple does have some final assembly operations in Ireland for CTO models. I had a CTO 2011 iMac that said "Assembled in Ireland" on it. So that's probably why.

If that's true then this would be a new procedure inconsistent with prior launches, where things came directly from China.

depends on the product. some launches are direct from Asia, and others stage in the U.S. Dependent on numerous variables and consumer expectations. Probably why this launch has been so unique from an Apple communications perspective. I think their velocity forecasts were wayyyy off (good and bad problem to have).

My company ships Apple product on behalf of the largest CE retailer in N. America, and we often often receive new product in bulk. Granted, this is usually a few weeks behind actual launch date (as we all know Apple likes to own most launch volume these days), but we do see Apple staging in the States shortly after some direct-from-Asia launches, when they could just as easily keep shipping from Far East.

My deliveries app updated from unknown to 5/8 for my 4/24-5/8 delivery, I think I was happier when it said unknown.

The app on my iPad gives me a May 8 date, yet the same app on my iPhone still says unknown. It changed last night before midnight my time.

If you look at the status direct from Apple it says the same. Before it was clear the app couldn't parse the date range from Apple so most probably the Delivery Status guy just updated how he parses the site on his server so that it shows the latest possible date rather than nothing at all.

Anyone else using the deliveries app get an update this morning? Mine now says delivers by 8th May.

Mine also changed. It does say "delivery by May 8th. Checked my order status on the apple website, it still say between 4-24/5-8, so I'm not worried.

Hi all. Same here deliveries app has changed but apple site still says 24/4 - 8/5 (UK date)

I'm getting nervous though. I thought it might be preparing by today at least!
