Has anyone noticed that Apple changed "What's in the box" on the Sport models? It changes from "TWO bands, one S/M and one M/L" to "ONE Band (Sport Band includes band that can be configured for either S/M or M/L length)". I went into the store on 04/10/15 and they had the two different sizes and they told me I would receive two bands, however, now it shows only one band??? This seemed to have changed on 04/16/15!

It was always one band. But you get three pieces. It was just some confusion about that. Even the apple store employees were confused, which is why they changed the description.

They did that because some company made a band swapping service that was based off the belief that apple would be giving two sizes, so people could swap if they wanted, but since it has one band, with two different size attachments to the main watch bands, it makes it very difficult to swap.

All the products come from the same factory. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, there is still potentially people before you. Likely thousands.

It kinda does. They have different stock produced, packaged up and allocated for different countries. Manuals, Chargers etc. all different.

Surely not. It wouldn't be cost effective to do it with more parts. Three pieces is pretty logical. I think band swap (that's what it was called?) just jumped the gun.

I just spoke to Apple online store....

Hey folks. I just thought I'd share the phone call I just had with Apple online store with you....

I called to add Apple care to my order (42mm white sport) and It turns out I can't until they actually ship my watch as that's when the serial number becomes active.

I asked if he knew when we might see shipping status change. He said expect to see change around Wednesday. He confirmed that my watch will be in China and coming straight to me from the airport. Not via any hub! I'm in the UK.
Seems like they are running a pretty tight ship. He said it takes 48h from China to me. And he seemed confident that I would get mine on Friday. I ordered at 8:02 last Friday.

So ruddy excited.

Same route as iPhone 6 then. Still surprised it's not changed to preparing for shipment though...
Shall be fun updating the UPS tracking website every 5 minutes ;)

But they originally advertised that you could swap the entire band. What comes with the sport is just 3 pieces instead of the presumed 4 pieces, two per size. 1 main band. And two size adjustments. Apple changed the literature on their website to make it more clear to people like strap swap what is actually happening with the band configuration.

this is a video I took of myself a few minutes ago

Just checked my online banking and had a pending payment go on from Apple yesterday (19th) onto my debit card of £0.00.

I think we'll see them despatched from China shortly!

Touché, the first part is new to me; I just remember thinking (from a manufacturing standpoint) hmm 3 pieces make sense, one static and another two interchangeable. My point was mostly, I don't think this was against the band swapping people, but more for efficiency.

Yeah it's clear why they did it from a manufacturing standpoint. Also, it makes it more of an incentive to just buy a new color from apple instead of going through the hassle of swapping and figuring out what size to swap etc.. During my time working for Apple, making it easier for the customer was always priority, but the customer obviously pays for that. Sometimes by force..

This is great news! I'm expecting mine in the UK as well, 2 pieces, both are Sport. And they should be delivered in Central London so now it seems more and more likely we'll get them launch day!

Find it interesting that my order won't let me edit my billing info (not that I need to, just wanted to check). Possibly a sign that they're working through orders? :)

No. My billing address was wrong from the start and I haven't been able to change it. I had to call to change, got an email that said it had been, but it still shows as old. Hopefully this goes through!

I'm still skeptical that they will be trackable from China. I appreciate that shipping from China can be as quick as 2-3 days, but from my previous experience with Apple launches I would have expected the UK orders to have started to show "Preparing for dispatch" by now. I think they have been sent in bulk to the UK and we will not see "Preparing for shipment" until Wednesday or even Thursday (assuming delivery on Friday).

Sleep makes everythiing happen loll :):apple:

edit---how can i sleep WITHOUT my sleep tracking apple watch.

Cant do it
