Delivery dates for various MacBook Pro configurations have started to slip, with some of the 16-inch MacBook Pro models now listing delivery dates ranging from November 2 to November 16, up from the original October 26 delivery date.

For stock machines, the entry-level $2,499 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip and high-end 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip now list November 2 to November 9 delivery dates, with the middle tier option delivering from October 26 to November 2.

As for the 14-inch machines, October 26 delivery continues to be an option for now, but the higher-end model with 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU might not deliver until November 2.

Custom configurations have longer lead times and some higher-end machines that have been customized will not be shipping out until November or even December in the case of a maxed out 16-inch MacBook Pro.

If you want a 14-inch MacBook Pro on launch day, it's best to order now as the delivery estimates will continue to slip for all machines. Apple should have MacBook Pro models available for in-store purchase on Tuesday, but that will be limited to stock configurations.

Picked up a 16 inch and a 14. 16 is for my wife.

Dec for me. Too much time to think about it means i might just cancel altogether and wait for version 2

I'm waiting for some reviews to see how noisy they will be (if at all). Those chips seem to draw up to 60W of power from what I remember on the graphs in the presentation.

That 16GB is also used for GPU, so less RAM for applications.
I’d go with 32gb. Better to have too much that too little, if it’s affordable.
Thanks, I actually think that 400$ is a lot if it’s only for a small improvement. Used for GPU… what does this mean? Is the entire video project loaded onto this 16GB of unified memory?

Is 16GB unified memory enough? I’m doing photoshop semi-pro and planning on cutting movies but not professionally.
I didn’t even hesitate on ordering the 14” because I’ve been blown away with the performance on my M1 Air with 16GB. I put together a lot of lecture videos and “multimedia“ content and this M1 Air absolutely destroyed my “old” 2020 13” 32GB intel MBP for reducing the time on rendering, exporting, etc. that doesn’t even consider the silent operation of the Air vs. the C-130 like turbofan sound on the intel machine, just from launching FinalCut (Actually, after I clicked order, I did briefly have a pang of anxiety about having fans again, but … we’ll see).

Thank you, sounds very promising. My last macbook was from 2011! I gave it away 2 years ago and was rocking the ipad pro 2018 since, but need a more powerful machine now.

Just ordered the 14 inch M1 Pro. I'm getting a delivery time of just over a week, which is great.

There's a few things I'm still unsure about, like was it really necessary to bring back all those ports/magsafe. USB C has been amazing. Also the new shape doesn't look as slick as the last gen.

Either way, excited to try the new display and to test out the "scarily fast" power

I've been trying to think of why the Mac mini wasn't't released as it was discussed as being released with the same confidence as the 14"& 16" versions.

Mey best thinking is that there was more effort than planed to ramp up production of the 2 new M1 chips and Apple simply decided to hold them for the MacBook Pros. Based on the slippage of delivery times that seems to be a wise choice by Apple, especially in terms of this quarter's results.

Maybe about the time the MacBook Air is released. Maybe the larger iMac will be released at the same time.🥳

Just ordered the 16" M1 Pro with 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD. It's actually cheaper than the i9 model I previously priced out. Delivery time is one week plus shipping.

Exactly.

Plus... the notch is in the Menu Bar. So unless you hide the Menu Bar... the notch doesn't steal any screen real estate. The Menu Bar has always occupied the top part of the screen anyway.

Yes it does. it takes space from the menu. I have a lot of apps that run most of the way across the screen, and now that's split...and will run into the other icons. I hope there's a 'no notch' option to just always black out that part of the screen.

I ordered the Max with the 64gb and the 4tb drive and it's showing Dec 2 - Dec 9. Clearly the customized ones with the Max are either in higher demand or they have not pre built as many of this model compared to the Pro.
I think it's the storage that's pushing dates. I did that with 2tb and it'll be here next Tuesday.
