Delivery Thread for 27" iMac December Orders

I'm a December 21st order. Just called Apple to see how things are coming along on their end and to check the order status. I was totally cool with them and the nice gentlemen bumped me to 2-3 days.

As an aside, prior to my order I called Barclays asking for a same as cash 18 months on the order (having used the offer on another mac in 2010) and they were happy to oblige. For you that have not placed an order yet and hold that card there may be some value in that for you.

I also called yesterday on my maxed-out configuration which was ordered on December 15. The lady reset my expectations from a January to a mid Feb delivery date, which kind of shocked me. Well, then yesterday, Apple charged my credit card and today the order status changed to "preparing for shipment."

It makes me wonder if making a phone call triggers something in the Apple CRM that dinks around with the delivery queue...

Whatever the reason, I'm a happier camper than before I made the phone call. :)

Hi all.
Just signed up, I have been watching this thread for the best part of a month.

Ordered my iMac on 30 nov with finance.
Heard nothing until I finally contacted Apple ( 18th dec ) who told me that the finance people had some additional questions. After contacting them (and confirming my mothers maiden name FFS) my order continued to stay "processing"
After calling apple again they told me that my order had of course been pushed down the list. ( thanks Barcleys )

Anyway my order just went to Preparing for Shipment.

Just spoke to apple. Order date dec27

3.4 i7. 1tb fusion 680mx. She wasn't able to give me anymore info just that it will ship in January and to look out on my cc for payment that's a good indication that it's shipping soon. I guess it's nothing we don't know already

My credit card was also cancelled due to fraudulent activity since placing the order and authorisation. Credit card company said it would need to be re-authorised, Apple said it wouldn't. :confused:

Anyway my order which was placed on 9th Dec moved to Preparing for Shipment on 9th Jan. I'm looking forward to see how well packaged it is, as it's now been at that stage for 5 days!
 
iMac delivery confusion

Having ordered my 27" iMac I am still waiting as patiently as I am able. It is still listed as processing. My patience was tested when I waled into my local Apple store and saw they have them there, my precise specification. I called the online store and they would not believe the store had them! Even phoned the store to check.
When, oh ,when, will it come?

Received this morning (1/16/13).

Woke up this morning to a status of Shipped (01/14/13). Expected delivery date: Wed.

Ordered on Dec 14th. Went to: Preparing for Shipment today (01/13/13).

Hopefully, will see it by the end of the week?

When did you order? Can't they switch it to pick up at store if the order isn't at a prepare for shipment status?

Almost a mirror image of my experience - also awaiting delivery to the UK... mind finally switched to Preparing today... keeping fingers crossed for delivery by the end of the week...

They won't. You have to cancel yr online order and then take a punt on the machine still being in store when you get there. Plus, you have about a week to wait for Apple to put your money back into your account, so cashflow can be a problem.

Order on the 26 same setup for the imac were you located because I think everyone here is in America and I'm from Canada
 
:eek: Whomever tredstone is... they have earned my everlasting hate and jealousy. Ordered on the same day as me (January 4th) and somehow it's shipped already! (according to the spreadsheet). They are in the US too! Lucky :p

Just got bumped to preparing for shipment!

My order is from 21-12-2012, base model with 1tb fusion via the Dutch edu store. Can I expect is in a day or two?
