Ordered 19 December, in transit

My 27" appears to be on FDX 90 from Shanghai to Memphis (based on a local 10:32 pm "in transit" figure, courtesy of Fed Ex tracking). I'm very excited.

Weirdly, I never got the text message update from apple, but I did receive an email.

Both Apple and Fed Ex estimated a January 16th delivery. I didn't pay for expediting. Not sure if it'll be here tomorrow or Wednesday, but the Fed Ex experts in this thread have set me a-wonderin'.

I know for a fact that if I take any time off from work to receive the package I'll be fired without a thought, so I'm not sure if I should presign and let it sit at the front door of my apartment in delightfully crime-free Los Angeles, or... I don't know, what's the other option, quit my job? Decisions, decisions.

It is most likely a time zone difference. Mine shipped today, but it said today was the 15th. That's because today is the 14th in USA, but it was technically the 15th in China. I think this is why a lot of people are getting their iMac's "a day early." Of course, I could be horribly wrong... ;)

Ordered mine on dec 10 - finally got shipping notification to be delivered Weds

Delivery was for the 15th and it came today:D:D:D:D:D

Good luck to you guys it was 36 days of suffering.

1/14: On the truck for delivery.

I just ordered an optical drive to go with it: LG 16x External USB 3.0/2.0 Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - $125 + tax with in-store pickup at Best Buy.

And I'll pick up the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter on my way home tonight. I received the Firewire 9-pin to 6-pin, and the 9-pin to 4-pin firewire cables last week.

I've had a bit of a letdown after starting up: setup assistant says it will take 9 hours to import my data from my MBP!!! About 330GB via FireWire 400 to thunderbolt. I thought it would go a bit faster than that. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow to move from my CoreDuo to my shiny new i7 :(

so I dont remove the display?

Yeah, you do this be careful not to drop it otherwise take it against Apple and have them replace the whole iMac, You have to take it all apart and find the hidden memory socket and insert at least 32GB of Ram.

Man, congrats. You're pretty lucky to have an order that late in December be shipping!

Aghhh, my iMac ordered December 26 is to deliver this thurs/fri! I've been waiting for a year. I5, 680, 1tb fusion. I was going to cancel if nothing happened by Wednesday lol.

Is FedEx Thursday delivery date or apples Friday delivery date correct?

Over on the UK/EU delivery thread, we have noticed a real step-up in delivery rates last few days. Lag dropping down to 2 weeks in some cases even for BTOs.

Have you seen the same here?

Perhaps we'll see the online store times drop significantly in the next few days.

Same conclusion I get from a look at the google doc. the 14th of January has the most imacs shipped in one day and the most finaly delivered.
Also noticed a lot of orders went to preparing the last days, even orders from late December, begin January. Things are moving!

Ohh well :(... at least I am not the only one in the 'waiting club' and we can share this 'un-pleasant' experience together. Keep me updated on your deliveries :)

There's a UK/EU delivery thread? WTF have been in here for all this time?!?

For UK orders:

How long are people generally seeing "Arrival not cleared for import" at Heathrow for?
