This is what I hate about console game betas, they usually last only a few days. Especially now that it became free for everyone - yeah sure, download it and install to play tomorrow when it's already over

Just a heads up, if you purchase the digital version of Destiny for the PS3 or XBox 360, you will get the digital version for the PS4 or XBox One for free. At present you cannot pre-order or pre-load for the 360 or PS3 I believe. But you can order and download on the day of.

Likewise it looks like with DLC. Might be worth ditching a physical copy if this is helpful to you.

The game preloaded on my PS4 yesterday. I'm not sure what to expect exactly, I missed the beta but I did see some gameplay footage that looked promising.

I don't know about the whole semi-MMO aspect. I mean, I guess I'm a conservative type of gamer. I grew up with the NES/SNES/N64 where games were mostly single player so I prefer to play a game that doesn't require other people to finish.

But who knows maybe Bungie did something wonderful here.

If anyone is getting Destiny for PS4, add me up;

PSN: bwoy-better-know

Would like to do some raids at some point in the future as well.

Man, I expected this place to go crazy when the game launches, thought everyone would be talking about their Destiny experience!!

Instead: *crickets chirping*

So what's the deal? Is everyone too busy playing it? Or just distracted by the shiny new Apple gear in the news? ;)

It's not a very good game IMO. Long load times between levels, levels which take all of 10 minutes to complete. The difficulty curve seems weird in that I had to play the 2nd mission a few times just to be able to level up for the next mission. All of the 'generated' missions are just "Kill this specific guy in this specific place" and are uninspired. The pseudo-MMOness of the game is odd because I can't communicate with the other players near me (of which is capped at 16 in the area) so in essence they just take away kills you could have gotten and are unintentionally frustrating to the experience since it makes it take longer to level up.

It's not a terrible game, but I honestly wouldn't have purchased it if my friends weren't playing it. I'm playing it with them but I'm not enticed to play it otherwise.

Struggling on the moon since I'm attempting to play everything on hard difficulty. Never understood the giant difference between me being a level 10 and an all 11 enemy being able to OHK me.

I'm freaking loving this game - got for both PS4 and XB1 - XB1 digitally and a $23 disc for PS4 after some great BestBuy deals.

To me this game is all about virtually hanging out with friends and it works great in that environment - I can imagine the fun factor being a lot less if you don't have friends to play with.

I got it for both systems because I have a different group of friends on each. Plan is to play through one world a day on each system.

It seems really weird to me that you can form a party of 6, yet when you try to do most missions it says you can't because you can only do those with 3 people. Then you land with half your party and there are 5 other people running around killing things. Why couldn't they let my whole 6 player party land?

Meh, the demo did not excite me. It felt soulless. I like the concept but I'm happy waiting to see how the series evolves.

Yeah to me the beta felt like you soulless wandering into confined areas, shoot the enemies, go back rinse and repeat slowly levelling up. Revisit location kill different set of enemies, albeit not entirely different, rinse and repeat.....

Not for me...

I'm only level 10 right now, but I can see this game having potential once it's been around for a while, as long as not all DLC is a payed updated. Having to pay for every little expansion would ruin it for me.

It feels as if they realeased a half assed Halo though. It doesn't feel like a finished game and it suffers from the same problem Halo did, repetitive enemies and levels. PVP is fun, but the two hours I played yesterday had me playing only two different maps, as if there's only one map for each mode. I don't know if there's a way to switch this up or not, but if not it's going to get boring really fast.

A game like this that has this many players connected could have done a massive persistent shooter world ala Planetside as well and that would have added yet another dimension. As of now, it feels really limited though. All the mission have felt the same too: fight your way through a horde of enemies to find something for your ghost to hack in to and then proceed to defend your ghost from another horde of enemies while it takes a 10 minute nap.

I played some of Destiny's single player on a friends PS4. Was kind of meh to be honest, the plot seems very vague and not very well thought out and the combat is very repetitive. It got dull very quick.

And don't even get me started on the loading times. It's ridiculous.

Try to stick it out and finish the story if you can. Not that the story gets any better, but I completed the story and am enjoying the other patrol and strike missions plus multiplayer much more than I did the main story.

Also, checkout this YT video to farm some loot!

lol I hve no idea about this game but read me some entertaining gamefaqs trash threads while being on train to work in the morning and this made me almost laugh out loud:

Yeah... that's the loot cave in the video I linked (our posts overlapped). You just stand on that dune like a dope with everybody firing into the cave opening killing everything that comes out. They drop tons of loot. When you run out of ammo you run into the cave and scoop up your loot then do it all over again. I don't know why, but I find it oddly satisfying. :D

Heh. I would if I owned the game. Unfortunately, it isn't available for PC so I can't get it even if I wanted to.

But that's the thing... the most efficient way to play the game is to stand in one spot and hold the trigger button down... the same loot drops from a level 1 creature as does a level 20 hard mode creature. I think the only exception is the 6 man raid.

If you like the PvP the game is good... otherwise it's less gameplay than Microsoft Solitaire.

I see were you're coming from, but you gotta admit: everybody who steps back a bit must realize that's borderline madness - playing a video game while standin in front of a hole shooting into the darkness - literally. People do this for hours!

Reminds me on that one guy who told us at a party couple of years ago he's playing some game called EVE to relax from work - though he had to do some serious mining (whatever that means) in game to earn credits so he can do stuff. Man, he had to suffer some head shaking and jokes about that..best thing was that he had to subscribe and pay mucho money for that :D
