No doubt it's fun and the fact that they did events show a small preview of what's the come, but this game could have been released with one or two more of the future DLCs they're planning and felt like and actual game. As it stands now, 4 planets with limited exploration, repetitive strike missions you're mostly forced to run to level past 20, and a limited range of crucible match types and maps that you're required to run to level past 20 if you choose to do the PVP routes, 1 raid, and some very minor other things mixed in leave this game feeling very incomplete.

There's really not much to do once you hit 20 and if there was a wider variety of objectives and game types, it would really help out. Also, the fact that there's no real character variation or dependencies make this a very linear game with not many options. There's three DPS classes and no missions or strike require you to have any certain combination of the three.

Despite the very limited scope, I've been spending a lot of time on this and I am having fun, I'm just not sure how long it will last.

I would have liked to see abilities that really matter. One class has a shielding special ability you can't even use very often unless you coordinate it with the group and one has an ability that's supposed to enhance the other characters with the same re-use rules. Otherwise, there's no real healing, buffing, or any other active abilities you can use to help benefit your group. That could have added a whole new level to the game and made it more than just a linear shooter with levels. They could have just started everyone at 20 and it really wouldn't have made any difference in the game at all.

Is this another chapter of Halo? :)

Noted that this game is available on both Play Station and Xbox One and 360. :)

No. It looks like Halo and plays like Halo though since it was created by Bungie, but it’s a different setting with different species and a Dinklage, so there’s no official connections.

The exact same kind of game? Oh, a new suedo-Halo chapter. :)

No. The gameplay is the same, but in Halo you don’t gain levels and the variety of weapons and enemies is a lot less. Plus the only online play, IIRC, is just arena team or death match style combat where are Destiny has co-op and open world type game play. It is a different game, but there are similarities because the same studio produced both.

Loving Destiny!

Don't know what it is about this game but it has me hooked!! I just cannot stop playing!!!! I have 3 gardians; Titan - Level 29, Hunter - Level 28 and a Warlock I started not to long ago - Level 26.

Looking forward to the Expansion next week!

Hey any groups on here run the Vault of Glass?

I did it once and looking for a group to do it with. I have two friends to play as well, one a Lvl 29 and other a Lvl 30.

Thanks for the clarification! I might have to check it out. I wonder if there is a substantial difference in graphics between the 360 and One versions?

Anyone playing Destiny on older consoles?

I tried the demo that is now available.

I have a slow dsl line at home, and tried to download the PS4 demo - 40Gig? I guess you download the full version and unlock it to become the full game.

The XB360 and PS3 versions seem to be only 5 Gig - now that's a "demo" version.

I've download the XB360 version and started playing. I have a "cheap" home theater projector and screen (55" wide) - the pixel creep is horrendous (sit 6 feet from the screen). PLUS, I retired my original 360 (still works!) and got a XB360 Slim. Man, Destiny on that really runs hot!!!

Downloading the PS3 version - is it gonna be the same? The YouTube vids seem to be at the mercy of the internet stream and capture equipment so the pixel creep on the PS4 version looks bad also.

Thanks for your input.

Anyone? I guess no one's bothering with this game on previous gen consoles...

I downloaded the PS3 version - yep Pixel Creep on that version too. I guess Bungie really taxes these consoles and they are fast approaching EOL (End Of Life).

Looking at the vids on YouTube looks like the XBOne and PS4 versions are much better. I was able to at least try the PS4 controller on the PS3 version just to see how it would feel.

Looks like the PS4 and XBOne versions are the ones to get.
