how so? they never mentioned anything about iPhone 5... all speculations and rumors

In what way did apple miselead people? They said nothing about the next gen iPhone until the announcement which was earlier today.

Not at all. Just further proof that rumors and speculation can really serve to set unfounded expectations.

What specially do you think Apple has misled anyone about?

How could they have. It's not like they ever mentioned any details of the phone prior to the keynote. All the information was posted by third parties as rumour and speculation. What does that have to do with Apple and why would you blame them. There is no logic in that.

Well maybe as everyone was reaching critical mass expecting a redesign... they were peering in to see what the public was expecting and felt a bit awkward but still went through with it...

THEY OWE US AN EXPLANATION for the 16 months...

It was all speculation. In their mind, to the average person who doesn't follow rumors, this was a pleasant surprise.

No they don't. They are a business and they make decisions based on what is viable for them as a business in order to make money. They don't owe you or anyone else an explanation. If you don't like their decision making or their products you're always free to choose their competition. No one is making you buy Apple's products. Just another silly and ridiculous thread.

They never misled anyone. But then again, you don't have to be misled to be disappointed!

Exactly. Apple has said absolutely nothing till today. I'd only say I felt mislead because of the rumors and speculations by third parties.

Bro,

It took them 16 months to release something thats hardly different.

They have unlimited funds for development.

Thats OUR money that we gave them because they PROVED to US that they innovate and give us nice gems and gifts of products so thats the silent understanding Apple has with its loyal consumers which is why we trust them with our money and don't mind paying comparatively higher prices. In this case we felt like we didn't get our money's worth.

So Ill say it again HANK...

THEY

OWE

US

AN

EXPLANATION.

(or risk un-doing some of the trust they built)

As long as they have superior flooring in their retail stores, I will always love Apple.

When you buy something or shall I say- when you buy "into" something, you vote with your dollars and this applies to anything. If anything, you should second guess your individual wants and needs, as you were caught up in the maze! I think you owe Apple an explanation regarding what your needs were to begin with. Color me crazy Dude!

Lol, subscribing. *pops popcorn*

Let's rename this thread, "Did thermal troll people?"

They don't owe you anything.

The iPhone 4S is a stellar release, the increase in performance alone far exceeds that of the 3G to 3GS and the 3GS was widely acclaimed and after such a long time is still one of the highest selling smartphones.

The general public (anyone registered and posting on an internet forum doesn't count as "The General Public") doesn't even know how long it's been and will buy them by the boatload as usual.

People are freaking out way too much over an incredibly solid new phone.

Apple didn't mislead anyone. They never mentioned anything about the redesign some people (and case manufacturers) were betting on. They made no mention of a larger display.

It would have been nice to have a redesigned phone. But that didn't happen. The iPhone 4 design is fantastic and I don't have a problem with the 4S keeping the same exterior, considering how improved the interior is. iOS 5 will make the phone even better.

People act as if they are being forced to buy every phone Apple releases. If you aren't happy with this upgrade, stick with whatever phone you have or use your freedom of choice to purchase any other phone on the market.
