iPod touch Did you get an iPod touch for Christmas?

sorry if this has already been asked, but i got an 8GB Touch for christmas. I kinda want to upgrade to the 16GB. The Touch was purchased at Wal-mart and I want to return it to Apple because I have a gift card that can be used to pay the difference. Will Apple know that the original was purchased from Wal-mart? Does it even matter?
I got one for my birthday a few minutes ago and I'm really excited about it but to be honest with everyone I'm a huge noob at the whole Ipod thing. For some reason I never got on the ball and this is my first one. 8gb and I don't even know how to turn it on! Can somebody point a noob in the right direction? thanks and merry christmas 
Gave one to my 80 year old father in law to use primarily to share pictures with fiends. He's a little overwhelmed by it but his is also thrilled by the capabilities. Amazing to watch him use it. Its like he is playing with some alien artifact. Each function amazes him.

I purchased a iPod Touch for my daughter this Christmas
First Impressions: I am not impressed, as I keep getting error code 69 & 50. It starts to sync then the error codes pop up and syncing stops. So I'm not impressed thus far.
I purchased an 8 GB
Do I plan to hack it, depends if I can get it to work. If I can't I might hack it...into tiny pieces.

So restore it and see if the problem continues. If so, copy your music over bit by bit to try and see if a song is corrupted.

Hey everyone im new here i wasnt shure were to go to post this so this is were iam coming for HELP, i have an ipod touch and when i connect to my neuobours network, it connects and everything but when i go on safari and search something it says (safari cant open this page because it cant find the server) what can i do to change this? is there a certain setting i need on the network to get into safari?

Use your own network, or one u know is safe and u are allowed to use.
I didnt get a touch yet but I got my money for the touch like I asked for I'm waiting until at least macworld to buy mine in case apple decides to pull any touch/iphone related announcements(size increase, price drop, soft improvements, early sdk release, etc).
On the topic of the SDK I hope apple does it right and truly opens up the device to all developers. I'd love to see something like an adium chat that runs natively. Also hoping apple will introduce streaming audio support into Itunes. With those two it would become the perfect device for me.

Yes. you'd need a router. Do you have a high speed connection? Or, if you have a mac, you could create a wireless network from that.
yeah i just have windows vista, and i have a modem, soo all i get is a wireless router hook it up to my modem and then install or whatever and it should show up on my ipod touch when i go to networks then i select it right?

Correct. You never answered if you have a high speed (broadband) connection.

Bought myself an 8GB Touch for Christmas to replace my old 4GB Nano. Love it (now that it has MobileMail.app) and use it daily, in fact it's always with me (primarily for the schedule, and to show off pics of my 7-month-old son).
My only real complaint is that I wish it would play tracks in order, by album, when selecting 'All Albums' by an artist (like every other damn iPod I've owned) ... I also wish it could display lyrics like my old Nano could. Other than that, I love it!

fantastic device for me though. Easy to type on. I can wrote just about a agast on my normal computer! Like tv video says just trust the iPod it gets it right most of the time.
