I honestly don't get the rush.
I'll be getting a 17 Pro Max 512GB, but I'm not bothered with waiting a few weeks. I'll see them in store, decide on a color, and then either purchase in store or order online.
Couldn't care less about getting it first thing in the morning on release day.

Everyone orders what he or she or it wants, but I think it's hard to argue the iPhone 17 is the best bang for the buck. It also looks the best imo.

Are people doing carrier inventory checks as well? Apple sells roughly 75% of its iPhone stock through carrier channels, so looking at Apple Store shipping times isn’t giving the full picture on potential sales/popularity.

As of 9:35 EST, all the base model iPhone 17s and Airs are available for pickup on September 20th. Ditto the navy blue 17 Pro Max. The orange and silver base model Pro Maxs are not available for pickup.

I just ordered 17 PM and it's available for in store pickup all over the city on 19th.

Yeah, but which city and which model? This was in Toronto for the base orange 17 PM. I checked at 8:34 ET / 5:34 PT. My delivery order at 8:09 ET / 5:09 PT is supposedly arriving Sept. 25 - Oct. 1.

My Air was in-store 9/19 or delivery 9/25, in San Jose. This was within a minute or three after preorders opened.

I went for delivery. Apple often moves those dates forward after the fact, and I really don’t want to deal with the upgrade program data swap at the store.

It's not accurate. Not when you actually try to order it. No one has gotten an actual 9/19 shipping date for the Air, it seems like it was bumped to 9/25 from the start.

Ordered the 512 Air in Sky Blue around 8:30 am EST and have a 9/19 delivery date.

It is impossible to steal a phone if it is usable on you too.

Only way to prevent anything. Though better to just have insurance if needed.

Not liking that my Pro Max delivery is the 25th but I can still pickup the 19th in store. Problem is going back to try and change anything isn't possible and the thought of being at the apple store for hours on a friday doesnt sound like it is worth it.
