Full refund.

If I get a discount, I would want a substantial discount to accept such a imperfection.

$50 doesn't cut it.

I rather get the item I purchased and pay full price.

Thanks for the responses, guys. Initially I was leaning towards the $50 and dealing with the scrape... Seems like the smarter thing to do is be a grownup and wait a little longer to find a real new one.

Stinks, because this phone is just perfect for me (I've been playing with it a bit since it got here). :(

And to those saying ebay was a poor/unwise choice: I've been using ebay since 1998 with absolutely no issues. They take good care of their buyers, in my experience.

I would ask for a $100 deduction. Then use that $100 to purchase applecare+.
The phone was dropped. It's nothing major but it's not new condition liked the seller stated.

The iphone 6+ aluminium is really soft. I dropped mine when I was sitting on the floor. It was liked 5 inches and it hit the side. The paint was scratched and big hole appeared..

I agree... I would try to get more money back and use that money for a warranty and a case and once it's in the case you won't even see those scrapes.

Return that piece of crap. That looks horrible especially for a brand new iPhone. And you shouldnt have been charged to pay the return fee.

That's a good idea, and I think the seller might go for that as well. If not, return it.

I'm not the kind of guy to return something for a tiny imperfection, but that's clearly some pretty major damage for a fresh-out-of-the-box phone. I don't think the loud vibration has anything to do with it though. That seems to be a very common issue.

I saw minor scrapes on the sides of phones. Nothing like this. Not clear drop-scrapes/dings like this.

But maybe I just didn't see those threads..

The vast majority had small nicks but some were a lot worse out of the box.

And hope it'll pass Apple's diagnostic test which is known to be able to detect drops? Not worth the risk.

It depends on how much you paid. If you paid more then retail I would ask for a full refund. If you paid retail or less I would ask for at least a 100$ refund.

I hadn't seen anything like this, is all I'm saying. My first iPhone 5 had a nice gouge in it, out of the box. Opened and activated right in front of an Apple rep! Got that one exchanged within seconds. But it looked nothing like this thread's 6 Plus.

All the pictures I recall from the iPhone 5 release were minor by comparison. But again, - just how I recall it.

This device looks like it was dropped by the eBayer. That's my take.

Send it back, OP!

You see many people on forums complaining about a scratch or scuff that we can't really see in photos, if it was barely noticeable, I'd keep it, but that my friend looks dropped . I can even see screen damage. No question, Return it asap. I wonder if he got a great deal on it from someone else and decided to try to pawn it off on eBay ... how much did u pay for it? If it wasn't 200 or more bucks off of retail price, it would go straight back. I would also wager he tries to sell it again, with no mention of damage.

I'd keep it for $50 lol
chances are, something else will go wrong down the road and you can exchange it under warranty lol

time to enjoy your phone and not let your phone make you its bitch

its a scratch that doesnt affect the phone

At least with eBay he has some kind of buyer protection.

Yep. From a buyer's perspective, ebay is great. Lots of protection if you get something other than what was described. From a seller's perspective it can seriously svck if you get tangled up with a scammer who makes a false claim.

Trust me I know. I sold on eBay for 10 years with a 100% feedback. I had to quit and haven't sold on eBay for almost 2 years because of scammers.

Definitely full refund. Being you purchased on ebay, I assume you paid a pretty nice premium for the phone, more than $50, and no way I would pay extra for that.

Surprisingly, no. The $50 would actually bring it below what full retail + tax would be for me. I swooped in at the last second on an auction ending at a non-peak time. :)

Just curious, did they have pictures of the actual phone in the eBay listing? If so, do they show the damage?

I do think they're being very fair, that's good to hear. Yeah, I'd return it too. Sucks but you'll have that phone a couple years, get one that looks nice.
