It's intriguing that Mac Rumors have had no stories on the on going Directv Now widespread issues. Yes it's not an Apple product, but they did multiple stories on Samsung Note issues. So what's the deal? The fact that ATT offered a free Apple TV should make the ongoing issue news worthy as it does affect the Apple community.

I totally agree. I think a lot of publications should be publishing stories about these issues because it is unacceptable

How do yall feel about the service since the last couple of updates?
Im still having an issue with it freezing up around primetime and that is pissing me off honestly

still getting the error loading tried all the suggested fixes, some channels it will play for awhile others happen sooner, It's got till my 3 months are up

It's going to be nice once they fix the problems and integrate into Apple's TV app, along with adopting single sign on. That's what I'm looking forward to. Like a $35 package with that kind of content, with the apps and the on demand content it will be basically a steal.

All of this is still in its infancy though (including Apple's own tv app) and it's glaringly obvious I suppose.

I'm trying to look at this a little more long term, maybe 6-9 months out to give services time to mature.

Just a lot of errors that will stop a show/movie and bring up a black screen. I've had to load live tv and navigate back to the networks tab (in the overlay when you swipe up) when I get these errors, navigate back to the network and select the tv show, multiple times just to get through one show. FX has been really horrible with it. FXM as well. Comedy Central. Almost all of them have been a mess for on demand in my experience. That's not to say I think they won't get around to fixing it, though.

Yep fixing the freezing issue and itergration would make me keep it, as the picture quality is top notch. The ATV for me is finally turning into my main tv hub

So far I am content with the offering. Glitches will be worked out slowly I guess. If I have a freeze up, I swipe left or right on the ATV remote to a different channel and swipe right back so the channel I was watching reloads. Usually fine after that.

Only thing I don't like is that NBC is not offered on the ATV, only on your computer, iPhone or iPad. That should be fixed instantly.

I'm kind of surprised here. So you have access to live NBC on your computer, iPhone & iPad (through the DTV Now app) but not on your Apple TV?

This must be something they're pushing out to users. I have live access to NBC SN & NBC Universo, but no NBC live streaming on any of my devices, just VOD content.

On their package comparison page they don't even list live NBC, just VOD.

I really think ATV has a lot of potential with the TV App, if they can roll out a wider adoption of services for it. It's actually not a bad UI or a bad idea to have access to VOD content all in one place. I'm going to attempt to use ATV as my main tv hub even if it is a bit early to be trying.

With DTV Now having support for HBO GO, I would really like to see the TV app support it, instead of just HBO NOW. I'd also like to see Amazon get along with Apple and actually release a tvOS app, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon. Airplay it is.

I have noticed the freezes have been happening more and more frequently (at least for me) over the last week. It kind of sucks when you're watching a program and you have to swipe left or right to change the channel. Only to swipe back to the channel that you were on.

I'm confident these glitches will be worked out, but the more I hear about PS Vue, the more and more I become intrigued by it. On the other hand, I don't want to cancel DTV Now and lose out on the $35 pricing for their 'Go Big' package either.

NBC Live has worked on my iPad since the beginning. They have more detail on one of the support pages but has been clear since the beginning. Also works with AIRPLAY but I do not like using AIRPLAY.

I agree about HBO Go and of course Amazon. I would like to see Single Sign Support added like DIRECTV has. And support more Apps. Seems these would be easy to add since they already support them with DIRECTV.

well i'm keeping the ATV and sticking around till my three months are up, if they don't fix the errors I'm jumping back to PS Vue

I actually have DTV, but in the rainiest city in the US, the satellite dish is often washed out. I wanted the ATV anyway, so I figured it would be a nice test. I only have a few complaints, but they are with the networks and not the service.

Why is CBS so dang greedy?! And why is the CW not represented on any of the DTVnow plans?

Was going to sign up for the 7 day free trial and the offer popped up if I wanted to get the free Apple TV only if I accept to pay out 3 months.

Am I able to decline the free Apple TV now and within the 7 day trial get the free TV?
Just create a separate account with a different email address.

With DIRECTV Sat service do you have a App for it that is similar to what you get with DTVnow. I ask because I have a relative on DIRECTV Sat and I believe she said they have a App that works like DTVnow App.

Regarding CBS All Access. It is pretty nice and CBS will start to bring more content like Star Trek that is only available in that App. I watch a lot of CBS so I have the no commercial tier for $9.99. I also have Hulu with no commercials that covers most of NBC, ABC, FOX (delayed). The CW use to be on Hulu but the now have a FREE CW App that is AD Supported. They will be on Netflix right after the seasons are over.

I might be unique that I seldom watch live tv except for News. And I pretty much refuse to watch commercials.

I use the app occasionally. Like everything else, you can skip commercials on only some shows, and when you can, it's not easy. I never know what will be available from my DVR. There doesn't seem to be much control.

That is interesting!

Well it looks like Hulu and Google are smoking Directv Now by signing CBS. Did ATT think they could prolong negotiations when they are no longer the only game in town?

They seriously need to get a deal with CBS and Showtime and also get NBC on television.

I like it. I wish it had more of my locals though. And the interface is a bit different between devices which gets a little confusing for someone like me who watches both at home and on mobile. As for freezing, I just don't have much. When I do, it has nothing to do with prime time hours as the worst freezing I had was this morning at 3am. So not a traffic issue.

What are the payment methods accepted besides credit card ? Paypal ? In store ?

PayPal and credit card only. That includes in store. I tried to pay cash and they said no. They literally do the exact same thing in the store that you would do at home. Literally the only advantage in going to the store is to get the Apple TV in person immediately.

That's NBC's content agreement with DTVNow. Okay to stream on mobile, not at home type connections except computer. Must have been all they could agree and come to terms on.

And why is the CW not represented on any of the DTVnow plans?

Their choice. Deals with Netflix preclude it. It would be nice if all channels were on all services, but unfortunately we don't live in that world. We live in one where licensing and content deals get in the ways of things.

Of course this promo ends in 6 days.

I believe you mean Fire Stick since the Roku is not yet supported.
Yes, exactly. Sorry bout that. That's what happens when you see a Roku box for sale in the store. Still fresh in my mind. :D Fixed it. Thanks for catching my mistake!

the nice thing about all these servicesa is the ease of jumping between. So if DTV does'nt get their act together its easier to go elsewhere, if Hulu comes up with a good service and has all their VOD content as well i don't see that not being the best option

This is exactly my point when people talk about prices rising. That is just not going to happen anytime soon. The competitiveness of these services, the lack of contracts, and the simplicity to move from one to the other is incredible for consumers.

Read this thread, or any other on the Internet, and currently SlingTV, PlayStation Vue, and DirecTV Now each have their supporters and detractors. SlingTV may be most limited, but it is also least costly. DirecTV has a great deal now on the $60 package for $35, but it seems to have performance issues currently. PS Vue generally seems to be well-liked, but is incrementally more expensive than SlingTV. Etc...

If only...if only...any or all of these packages was able to deliver local channels within their regular bundles it would be game over for cable/satellite. Which, by the way, is likely the #1 reason they don't (currently) have locals! But it will happen eventually.

In my area Vue does cover all major locals. The one thing really missing is RSN availability. Sports is the ultimate game changer along with locals. Unfortunately there is a lot of cable company ownership with RSN's.

So I can sign up online and not only pick up my Apple TV the same day in store AND pay for everything in store ?

Do you know if you can change on your account future payment methods from you original payment method ?

Can you always pay your bill in store ?

I'm assuming If I sign up for two accounts and redeem two Apple TV deals I can just walk in and pick up two Apple TVs right ?

Can you use the same payment method for two different accounts ? Can you change the e-mail (username) that you use for the account later on ?

When you sign up it is going to want your payment info immediately. So the answer to your question is more complicated than that. All the people in the store do, is what you would have done at home anyway using the exact same website.

Do you know if you can change on your account future payment methods from you original payment method ?
I'm sure you can. It wouldn't make much sense for a company to not let you. Because things change!

Can you always pay your bill in store ?
It's a recurring charge like say, a Spotify or Apple Music subscription. Not a bill you pay. So no.

I'm assuming If I sign up for two accounts and redeem two Apple TV deals I can just walk in and pick up two Apple TVs right ?
I would assume that to be the case but having not tried it, it would just be a guess on my part.

Can you use the same payment method for two different accounts ? Can you change the e-mail (username) that you use for the account later on ?
I do not know the answer to the first question. Yes you can change your email on an account no problem.
