The Verizon subscribers only accounted for 20% of the memberships as of February, much less than originally thought. People are willing the pay for Disney. It’s huge.As others stated, the Verizon offer was huge...but if you have kids or like Star Wars it's a no brainer.
Yeah, I’m planning on watching a few Apple TV+ shows when the next season comes out. I tried my 7 day trial of Disney+, mainly to watch some of the Simpsons. I won’t be subscribing anytime soon, as I don’t cAlare for their originals & i don’t see the point paying monthly just so I can watch any Disney or Pixar film whenever I want - it’s cheaper to use iTunes for the ones I want to keep instead of paying more (in the long run) for the same access I’d have if I buy a film from iTunes.Disney is for sure amazing but actually, Apple TV+ isn't bad either. I am subscribing to both and don’t plan to cancel any.
I cancelled Netflix tho and I think any 18+ website might be a good free alternative for that 😌
I watched the Mandelorian series. There was no other original programming for me after that, so I cancelled. It’s really light on original shows compared to Amazon, Netflix, HBO.
I haven’t seen anything compelling on Apple’s service yet.
Limited content? Maybe limited by what you like...which is fine, but the content isn't limited.Very limited content. Like others have said, after my free year with Verizon, can't see our family renewing.
Apple Music could use some tips from Disney+'s team for marketing 😉
Unlike Apple, Disney has plenty of paid memberships. No way am I going to pay for Apple TV+ after my free year ends.

This is inaccurate, and I think you know that. 50M subscribers aren't watching "garbage" and aren't all 11 years old.I don't understand what people are watching on there. It's garbage. Unless you're 11 yrs old.
We heard from Disney in February that only 20% of their subscribers are the Verizon variety, far fewer than many "analysts" thought.Half of them are from Verizon free for a year numbers.

Really? Every 160-200 million Verizon Wireless subscriber got a free one year Disney+ in the mail.
This figure can’t be right. In India Disney+ was already on Jio Network for long and they own the Hotstar service. Hotstar itself has over 300 million users. When they rebranded Hotstar as Disney+ Hotstar, they automatically gained 300m+ subscribers. Add to that 100m+ Jio sunscribers.
Sameeeee here man. I got it for free so I thought I’d try it out. Tried it, thought it was meh and won’t pay for it after they start charging me. There’s only so many Disney and marvel movies I can watchI mean does this include all the free membership from Verizon? Cause that's what I have. I don't intend to continue after the free first year is over.
I can relate. My 2-3year-old-then daughter watched Frozen nearly everyday for months. She then went around the house singing and stumping her foot like how Elsa (or however she is called) would do 😂Pretty easy to see which MR commenters have little kids and which ones don't in this thread.
Hey, do you guys know why G-rated movies dominate the top of the box-office charts (weekly, monthly, etc.)? It's because of kids.
Your kid will watch the same damned movie ten times in a theatre if they can, then watch the DVDs/Blu-rays until the drive's spindle crashes like an auto transmission after 300,000 miles.
I have both for free and I will likely cancel both but surprisingly I’ve watched more shows on ATV+ than Disney. I didn’t get into any of the Disney original.Solid streaming service with A+ quality content. Apple TV+ isn't even worth comparison at this point.
I don't think Apple are really going to be a big deal in the streaming industry going forward.
They would have bought Disney if they had plans to dominate.
It doesn't help that AppleTV+ offerings are mostly awful.
Also, content providers creating original stuff are effectively hampered right now. Disney can keep adding older, back catalogue content as it sees fit. Apple don't have that option, unless they start buying up films and shows they don't currently own.
