Yes, endgame show as dolby vision for me.
Thanks!

By default, HDR is always HDR10. If the movie has Dolby Vision, then it will play as Dolby Vision if your TV supports it. Otherwise, it defaults to HDR10.

I thought there was some nuance, but I may be confusing with HDR10+, which I believe content creators must explicitly support, meaning a video could be encoded for DV, HDR10+, both, or just HDR (and no HDR at all, of course).

So I guess what I should be saying is that I wish all the providers supported HDR10+ 😁

Not even sure why you bothered to reply to me if "Apple TV plus programming is crap" is all you could come up with. Your OPINION is obviously not share by everyone.
Sorry it is CRAP..maybe it will improve but it is severely lacking. Did I mention CRAP

Apple TV+ is terrible, just like Apple's other terrible streaming service, Apple Music. They are so far behind the competition it isn't even funny. And I say all this as a huge Apple fan with the latest iPhone, Mac, iPad etc. They make great hardware, but I'm kind of glad they aren't good at *everything*.

As for Disney+, it's awesome. A great value for all of Star Wars, Pixar, Disney, and Marvel. Mandalorian is excellent.

I wish there was an app to download content to a Macbook. This common approach with all the streaming services is driving me to consider an iPad Pro as my travel hardware.

Apple TV+ is GREAT... for FREE...

You forgot to mention 20th Century Fox and Nat Geo for Disney+...

We got spoiled with Apple's 1-year trial... what a great move by Apple, how can you say no to a one year? If Disney had a month, I'd probably try it out, but not a week.

Edit:
Eh, well I signed up. If you have a Verizon unlimited plan or FIOS, it's free for a year.

Honestly, most people will probably decide in a couple of days...I did. There's just so much on D+ that I like that I would probably need a few months to cover. I also just discovered that extras are included in most movies on D+...bonus!

there's nothing i'm interest to look from Disney

So far Apple TV+ been very good with their shows.
Exactly. I have the free Verizon year of Disney+. I just added everything I might possibly want to see to my watchlist. All but ONE of those things I have seen before—from within one year to five years to back to my childhood 40+ years ago! That would be the Mandalorian. Everything else is OLD/ancient and/or out for at least one+ years *excepting this year's Avengers/Cpt Marvel. There's maybe one new 'adult' series, if you can call it that (Mandalorian). That's it! I would not pay $7 or even 4.50 for this! The Apple TV+ is definitely a better and more interesting lineup.

As far as the family market goes in the streaming wars, this is game over. Disney wins. Their vault of stuff is extremely impressive.

The Mandalorian is awesome. I have spoken ;)

It really was. At first I thought we were going on a quest of these off-the-record bounties for him to make his armor... what I got instead at the end there I was not expecting in the least and I can't wait to see where this goes.

ATV+ is awesome just like their music service. D+ is crap and Mandalorian is boring. I guess if you want to get constant errors and something to entertain the kids it may be okay.

It is unfair to compare the two. When i log into DisneyPlus. My whole childhood full of content is there. Including Disney series i grew up with when i was younger. To me, that in itself is worth $6 bucks a month.

Not sure if this was addressed but did anyone else have the Disney+ app just appear on their phone? It just did on mine and I definitely did not download it.

There is a lot of children’s content of course. There is also the Star Wars and Marvel movies. There is Pixar movies. Disney also released some non G rated movies under other studio name like Touchstone, so many people are unaware those are Disney films. Disney owns ABC And ESPN. Disney recently bought the Fox catalogue so they have a lot of movies and TV shows from that. They really control a lot of content. With existing licensing deals some of that content may be on other streaming platforms but they will likely move the content to their platform.
Right, I forgot Disney owns Fox now...

Personally I’m not interested enough in the offering to warrant the monthly fee, but it’s definitely impressive and there’s a lot to offer. In terms of selection, it absolutely crushes all the non-Netflix streaming services out there.

I'm soooo glad that now all of the Disney movies are going to be on one platform. Not sure how I'm gonna get things done, I feel like I'm gonna be just binge-watching movies all of the time. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy the subscription yet, but I found this subreddit, which talks about how to access the platform worldwide. And now, surprise, surprise, I'm able to watch the movies. Since sharing is caring and I think most of us are dying to try out Disney+ here's the link that helped me:

The thing is that Apple and Disney will compete. However they aren't playing chess against each other. It's more like Cook and Iger are seated at a poker cash game. They can both profit. The idea isn't really beating one guy in particular it is to leave the table with money. They will both easily do that. Now Netflix might have trouble that same table. They are already losing money and desperately need to increase revenue to stay in the game with more players at the table. That's the end of my corny poker analogy.

However 10,000,000 new sign ups in one day is very impressive for Disney. I think people might under estimate the cult of the house of mouse. Just like Apple has crazy fan boys Disney has millions of super fans.

Glad I bought some DIS when Iger stated this would be the most important thing he did ever at Disney.

I have to airplay Disney+ to my Vizio 4K HDR TV from my iPhone or iPad. I can get HDR but it’s only at HD. In the app on both devices it only says HD for all content. A friend has the same thing.

Can anyone get 4K (UHD) from their iOS devices?

this actually looks good.. I have my US account, so may try and see.

I'd be right at home with Pixar and Star wars stuff.

So STan + Disney+ thats stuf $20 or so..

The number of signup's speak for itself... Unless 5,000,0000 like crap.

Eh. The production quality of For All Mankind is good-not-great. They should have reassigned the budget from See, which is a bad show, to FAM.

And even if it's not, there's just no real ATV+ content.
Perhaps I'm just easily impressed. The picture quality was way better than Netflix or AP ro my faded eyes.

No idea on Disney. They were getting paid all along licensing that stuff. Now they offer it on a sub. Is 10m impressive? No idea there either. Perhaps they expected more. That’s decades of media in their library. Their only cost is running the service and making some new content (not overboard like Netflix). Seems like a good deal for Disney.

Netflix and Apple have to spend. Netflix bet the bank on having growth. The billions in debt come due and subs is their primary income. Apple just has to have other benefits from it or it’s not worthwhile. Having that App Store is key.

The stock moved 8% on the news so it seems there is some sort of consensus that 10 million in one day is pretty much insanely great. I think they aimed to have 100 million in a year. They did ten percent of that goal in a day. They servers were hammered. It was way above expectations.
