If you limit Disney just to Toy Story-based content, they still have more than ATV+
Disney was founded in 1923. They have more content than god. Apple has been making content for about 3 seconds.

Why is this even a comparison? I just don't get it. A company just getting in to a space has less content than someone who's been doing it for nearly a century. Shocking. In other news, water is wet.

Nobody will ever have as much content as Disney. No one. Anyone starting in this space is going to have a long road ahead. We should wish them well.

I have "It's a wonderful life" and "wizard of oz" in 4k.

Yeah, I understand film is very high res (even older film). So, 4K transfers are possible.

I think he was just joking on "long, long time ago…"

The ones I don't understand are the 4K transfers of things like "A Charlie Brown Christmas." What's the point of a 4K transfer of a fairly primitively drawn (although beloved) cartoon.

Oh look. Apple (App Store) sent me an email about downloading Disney +. And it only mentions Disney. Unlock the world of Disney it says. Now why would Apple do this for a competitor? Because Apple doesn’t see Disney as competition. They’re more than happy to sell Disney and take 30 percent. Btw. You’re probably one of a very few preordering Disney (pretty dumb though). I get a year free. Most will sub from the app.
For this exact reason I signed up directly on the Disney+ website and not through any in-app purchase. Why should Apple get anything let alone 30%?

Are search results based on some timeframe/popularity or on matching what I am typing? I would hope it would be the latter, and 29 other results that don't match what I typed listing ahead of an exact match to what I typed, doesn't seem right.

But next time Apple releases a big app, I'll do a similar search within hours of its release, and I'll let you know if it also is on or around #30 in the list, or if it's at the top of the list. ;)
Alright, cool. Perhaps Disney setup cruddy search terms.

surprisingly my initial impressions of apple TV+ has been better than disney+! I mean there's a ton of back catalog stuff i'm excited about with disney, but there's nothing new that was really attractive to me! I really am enjoying all three SEE/TMC/For all mankind and am excited about what else apple brings to the table as the quality seems great. was disappointed by mandalorian, was hokey and odd.

my friend who is a producer at disney told me that disney+ was lame right now because disney doesn't do mini series and by the metrics that's the most important category for netflix. I have 3 years of disney+ already so will be looking forward to them adding more content!

I have a 2018 Samsung QLED and, using the Samsung app, the Disney+ 4K picture is terrible. I have all motion and picture enhancements off but I still get the “soap opera”effect. Is anyone else experiencing this or found a way to downgrade the video stream to HD resolution?

Have the TCL 6-Series and the Disney 4K picture is fantastic. I'm using the built in Roku as the Apple TV 4K is definitely not as good.

Netflix adds more original content than all the others combined. No commercials. All at once. Variety. It’s not a contest really.

Quantity does not equal quality. If they have 1000 of their own original content but I don't like 998 of them then it really doesn't matter how much they have, only how much I like.

True. Never cross the streams.

Crossing the streams of Apple and Disney would be like Tim Cook shining a coin-cell powered flashlight into the sun. The kool-aid drinkers here would claim they couldn't see the sun anymore in the intense shine of Timmy's light.

Unless you already have a Hulu account and use the same email address.

good catch!

Eligible existing Hulu subscribers

Eligible existing Hulu subscribers are able to sign up for the Disney bundle while maintaining their current Hulu subscription.* If you already have Hulu, you’re eligible to get the Disney bundle as long as:

You’re 18 or older
You live in the United States
Your Hulu subscription is in good standing
You don’t receive your Hulu subscription through Spotify or a promotional offer (unless otherwise permitted by Hulu or Disney)
*Third-party billing limitations may apply.

Before getting the bundle, there are a few things to keep in mind as an existing Hulu subscriber:

You’ll need to sign up for the bundle via Disney+ (not Hulu)
You’ll need to use the same email address associated with your Hulu account
You’ll have new Disney+ and ESPN+ accounts along with your existing Hulu account
You'll continue to be billed separately for your Hulu subscription
As long as you keep your eligible existing Hulu account, Disney will give you a credit towards your Disney bundle subscription in the amount of $5.99/month — the value of the Hulu (ad-supported) plan included in the Disney bundle (however, you’ll keep the Hulu plan you have)
