I can see the attraction of their channel because of their catalogue stuff (Pixar, Disney, Marvel & Star Wars) if you've not already bought them on iTunes and/or physical formats, but there's not a massive amount of new stuff on there from day one. There's obviously a lot of new Marvel shows coming which I think will be a big attraction for a lot of people.

The staggered release is very annoying though because its going to be a nightmare to avoid spoilers for The Mandalorian between now and next year when its scheduled to launch in the UK.

Is Disney going to provide a subscription option that includes Disney+ and Hulu? If not than this is basically a Disney movie streaming service right?

Currently the bundle is Disney+, Hulu with limited adds and ESPN for 12.99.
No word on just Disney+ and Hulu only.

"August 6, 2019
Disney is finally bundling its three streaming services and it’s going to cost you $12.99 a month.

On an earnings call Tuesday, CEO Bob Iger said that U.S. customers would be able to get Disney+, ESPN+ and ad-supported Hulu for under $15 a month."

For those interested, here's some bitrate info from SW: A New Hope in 4K.

What do people like so much that Disney has to offer? Honestly curious, not trying to start any fights

Obviously everyone’s personal tastes differ but there are millions of fans of their IP. Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar alone represent arguably the 3 biggest franchises so having all (or most until previous licensing deals explire) of the content ln one place is very appealing, especially if you have kids.

I’m personally a big fan of Star Wars and Marvel so The Mandalorian alone is worth trying it out. I suspect my family will use it a few months every year to check out (binge watch ;)) new content.

No, the bitrate info is from an Apple TV 4K. I also have it on my Roku Ultra and it look really nice there as well - that does 4K HDR.

There's something about the Roku 4 because Apple didn't release the ATV+ app for it.

If you are looking for a new Roku - Best Buy will have the new Ultra on sale for only $49.99 on Black Friday.

I guess that's the blessing with Apple in this situation. Apple doesn't have a massive backlog of content like Disney, so they had to make sure that their originals were absolutely incredible (which they are). But that backlog of content has caused Disney to rest on its laurels, as it were. The thing is, most adults I know (including myself) wouldn't sign up for old content.

The Disney backlog ultimately stings, as I could have watched all/most of this backlog on Netflix, etc., before Disney removed them for their own service.

One new episode of Mandalorian a week (plus 4 kid reality shows, an adolescent high school musical - which doesn't have the Dickinson appeal to this adult, and an intriguing Jeff Goldblum series) are simply not enough. Disney had to launch with at least one Marvel series to even stand a chance. I'll give this another shot in a couple months when there is more original content.

I can get Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu for $12.99 a month already. Who needs Netflix. ;)
I do. I am not into sports nor kids shows. And I prefer Hulu without ads. I would rather straight up pay $12.99 for just Hulu without ads. Disney+ is a kiddy/teeny paradise, but a hellhole for adult viewers.

Hulu+Apple+HBO is going to be my online cable package for the foreSEEable future (I will be signing up for HBO Max to replace HBO Now).

Is there no app? I’m not seeing it on the iOS App Store

*update* I see it, wasn’t there a minute ago....

Looked at the Marvel Movie section and Movies are not in release order nor reverse release order. I cannot figure out what order they are sorted in. Not even Alphabetized.

Right now it's being hammered.

I got to watch Mandolorian ( Meh. I'm not a big SW fan though ), looked to see what else is on, and now it's having issues connecting.

Ah well, it's to be expected.

Here's all the devices:

And the Roku models supported:

Note that they don't break it down on what can and can't play 4K.
