Apps for channels are so dumb. There should be, movies, tv shows, music and possibly pin subscriptions to the main screen.

I don't want to see star wars on my main screen. Apps like Onlive could work but not specific shows.

... this is partly why I'm still on version 4.4.4. I reeeeeally don't like the 'new' look; too messy & cluttered.

ATV screen getting too cluttered ... need to be able to make folders.

Yes, should all work like the iPad and IPhone , since it's the same iOS.

And, how about just a select and delete way to clean up?

Soem of these logos are horrible looking. Disney especially.

I wonder if there's a way to hide the icons you don't want or need...

A separate app just for a movie franchise?.. Really?

This looks like the beginning of a disturbing trend.

I agree.

I love having lots of content on the AppleTV, but I don't want dozens/hundreds of apps each for one show/movie/franchise. I want one search for all content (though I've no problem if there are also specific apps which presents some kind of special, branded interface).

In this regard, the AppleTV is moving backwards relative to other options. On my cable box I can view all scheduled programmes together in one EPG, or I can search all scheduled and On Demand content together. On the AppleTV, it seems the programmes are being fragmented across many apps. Launch. Search. Close. Launch. Search. Close.....

This is a good way to distribute the conclusion to a series, via iTunes (and for free!). Hopefully it won't just be on the Apple TV. But I would imagine they would open it up to those using other devices too. Very cool! :)

So no HBO Go for Charter Communications customers and no Amazon Prime yet? This is silly Apple.

Why don't you find someone that has HBO and share the cost, thats what I did. My sister has HBO but doesn't stream, I stream but have no cable. We share the cost of the channel 50/50. Its a win win for both of us.

Who wants to bet on how many scenes they change this time?

As long as Lucas decides not to add a ghost of Steve Jobs to the group shot at the end of Episode VI as an iTunes exclusive, then it should be ok...

I have cable and I do get HBO Go on my iPhone, are you willing to share your information to me?

Starwars Old Republic ads are shown with this article. Good news! Your ad-sense is working!

I would be very pleased if I could just re-order them and put the ones I don't use at the bottom.

How about it Apple? Please!

You can rearrange them and hide them. Re-arrange by long pressing the select button, move the app icon in place, press the select button. Similar to how you do it on any other iOS device.

Let's go ala carte...

How about just finally making the AppleTV an ala carte service provider for TV content in general. I want ABC, NBC, CBS, HBO, Discovery and Weather (and my family wants MTV for some unknown reason). I don't want the other 500+ channels that are currently part of any TV tiered package.

Allow me to choose channels to watch one-by-one, let me pay for them one-by-one, and turn them on and off at will. Quality of TV content should improve dramatically if you were to do this, and I'd only be paying for the stuff I actually want, and not funding the basket weaving channel.

<and yes, this is my first post in a LONG time…>

And then you end up with old school early day iOS with tones of virtual 'buttons', no way to sort or remove them efficiently, and where many have no use beyond the immediate term. Do you really want an AppleTV screen with a button for ever TV show being streamed by any content producer that can pay off Apple to let them have a button?

Of course not, but so far there isn't enough content to make organizing it worth while.

So...Apple, can we please just announce the App Store for Apple TV and stop shoving random content on to the home screen every two weeks?

Although I don't see a fully open store ever happening I agree that it would be better to split apps and OS. More iOS style

You can hide as many as you want from the Parental Controls interface.

Yes but then every time they release another one you have to do it all again. And if they keep adding apps every couple of weeks that will get annoying fast

Ugly, inconsistent icons

Does Apple not have a say on these third-party icons? Horrible design for many of them, garish colors, etc.
