Movie Anywhere except if you travel beyond the United States. You can't even access your US account or movies while traveling abroad.
Not true. You need to be in the US to create an account, but you can access your movies from anywhere. Also, the movies transfer to your iTunes account, which is another option to watch them outside the country.

Now the real question is what is going to happen as far as 4K/HDR rights between services especially iTunes which upgrades HD to 4K?
Yeah, I read this news release and thought, interesting timing...is this a way to take back control over Apple’s free HD to UHD upgrades? Let me explain....

So far Disney is not on board with apple’s free HD to UHD upgrades, even though the UHD version is streaming only, cannot download. In fact, the very few Disney UHD titles are not at all available via iTunes nor the Disney movies anywhere app, ...I’m not sure if they are available elsewhere, only UHD blu-ray, as far as I know.

So, I’m wondering if these will be HD only...what the strategy is? Could they be offering HD version for digital copies, then make you pay extra for the UHD version? They don’t mention anything about UHD in press release.

Maybe I’m off, I mean, I guess the few Disney titles I’ve redeemed are in my iTunes movie library.

In any case, this sounds better than the old ultraviolet OR iTunes crap.

So, yeah what is their strategy for UHD?

Early users report that Vudu HD movies port to iTunes and can then be watched in UHD.

I believe the way it works is that iTunes does not distinguish between HD and UHD rights, i.e. everybody who owns the HD version also owns the UHD version if available. This is why HD movies that are ported over from another service are also available to watch in UHD. This is not the case the other way around; on Vudu and Amazon, HD and UHD versions are currently separate, and iTunes HD movies are not upgraded to UHD when they port over to these providers.

Got an account setup. I connected my Apple, Google and Amazon accounts. VUDU keeps failing when I try to connect.

Same for me - every time I try to link Vudu - I get to a screen where it says "two more steps," then when I click "continue" (which should be step 1), it takes me to the main Vudu homepage and nothing else.

Rinse. Repeat.

Yay I can buy Blu-ray’s from Sony and Warned Bros again! I stopped since they quit offering iTunes digital copies.
So all the studios that signed up for Movies Anywhere will support iTunes digital copies? I’m confused on how it all works.

Having issues linking my Vudu account as others have said. Of the people who have been able to link their Vudu account, how does Movies Anywhere handle movies in your Vudu library that were added via disc to digital?

Called VUDU. Looks like 10AM PST they will be working with Movies Anywhere. I'm very excited that a lot of my movies will transfer between all services.

it means they're even in the Apple TV "TV" app, just play as you bought it from iTunes, even in 4K if available. It's great :)
[doublepost=1507822464][/doublepost]connecting VUDU works :)

Another great thing I found out:

A few years ago I had a German iTunes account which is an US iTunes account now. All of my purchases from back then are in my purchases tab?! (at least those which are available in the US store).

That's great :)

I tried linking my Canadian iTunes account and it failed. I tried with my US iTunes account and it worked.

I've succesfully linked my Google Play and Amazon accounts though.

Despite this, I see no changes in my purchase history for any of the accounts and my Movies Anywhere account only shows the 5 movies I got for signing up.

So I guess this is a US only service.

I can verify this - I'm in Nassau, but setup an account on my iMac back home and can view them all here on my devices.

So now my Vudu has all my iTunes purchases. But iTunes doesn't have my Vudu purchases...hope this is just a glitch still.

Welcome to the modern maximization of marketer spin...

Enjoy the lifetime* lease to your* media via Movies Anywhere* streaming on your unlimited* data plan.

;)

I guess 'Movies in Some Places Under Certain Conditions' isn't quite as snappy a product name, but would have given a more accurate representation of what it is. :)

:D

Disc to Digital are not treated differently. They now appear across services.
