You seem to be confused as to what a "straw man" is.
Regardless, the point--which I'm pretty sure you got but are choosing to ignore because you like following me around here--is that as a general concept, people buy things they like, and people don't buy things they don't like. People who really, really dislike the notch aren't (for the most part) going to buy the iPhone. And that statement was made in response to this comment:

And to respond to your (irrelevant) tangent for kicks, people are allowed to dislike something they haven't tried or haven't tried extensively. That's their prerogative. You might find that irrational, but guess what? Lots of people do lots of irrational things every single day.
Furthermore, not everyone has the time or the inclination to "try it" for a period of time. And not everyone can take advantage of Apple's liberal return policy; some people may be tied into carrier agreements which often are not nearly as charitable.
But like I said, this discussion is completely irrelevant with respect to my original comment.
