Well at the moment the 6S+ has a larger footprint, a smaller screen, it's heavier, has less RAM and less functionality than the Note 5. I call that poor design on Apple's part and as for 3D Touch, I will reserve judgement until I've used it. I hope it's a beneficial feature but I can also see how it might be a PITA.
Don't forget lower res screen. But best of all, it's not an apple. It runs touchwiz and the battery isn't anything to write home about, those three "features" outweigh the design of the iP6+ IMO

Haha. Okay, just keep in mindthat this phone still weighs less than the iPhone 4, 4S, and all the other iPhones...Haha. except the 6. So don't worry, Im sure you won't even be able to tell unless you really do care that much.

Th 6S+ is the heaviest iPhone ever.

Have you never been scrolling and accidentally brought up copy/paste?
My parents inadvertently press and delete things they seemingly had no control over. I should imagine that lots of people of a certain age will find 3D Touch a right royal pain in the ass.

I've never done that. If your parents are accidentally doing that I feel bad for the pets in your house.

What's your problem Mr Perfecto? I don't believe for a moment that you have never accidentally 'long pressed' your screen.
My parents have a dog and have never damaged it, they do however accidentally press all sorts on their iPhone screens...

That's just it. It's not a heavy mobile phone. People are just spoilt these days. I suggest you look back to the past when the first mobile phones were released and how heavy they are. Honestly people are making a big deal out of nothing.

I remember the Iridium satellite phone. Heh.

And that's why the note 5 sold over 70 million last year and slated to sell 90 million this year. Oh wait that's not the note 5, it's that other "poorly designed" phone.

So you're all for Apple un-spoiling us and taking us back to the late 80s? :)
I thought Apple were all about cutting edge lightweight designs?

People obviously didn't buy the iPhone 6 for its sleek, modern lines. They would have bought a competitor's product for that. People buy iPhones because they are iPhones.

What I can't understand is why you're still buying them....

New screen and new vibrator add most of that extra weight to the iPhone 6s. For someone used to 5/5s weight of 112 gr for couple years going to 6s will not be comfortable.

I personally don't like heavy objects in my pockets especially when wearing summer clothes.

Coming from the 5, I have more thought about the dimensions of the new phone rather than the weight, but it is what it is, and I'll get used to it, I imagine. But the Plus would've been out of the question for my delicate elf-like hands. ;-)

By the way, I wonder if these dimensions will require new cases - I'd have to buy one anyway, but curious. We'll see on the 25th, I suppose!

I've never done that. I swear on my daughter's life. If you don't believe me that's your choice. Maybe it is a thing but I've never done it. Anyone else...?

No one is complaining about accidental touches on an Apple Watch. Maybe older folks will have a hard time with it but no one is forcing them to get the phone. Giving old people the latest and greatest technology has always been a challenge. Heck, I remember my parents VCR blinking 12:00 because they couldn't figure out how to set the time.

so then I won't need to do weights at the gym anymore... i'll just use my iphone throughout the day.... do a few bicep curls here.... tricep extensions there.... single arm rows (making sure to evenly switch hands!

heck... i'll even do squats and lunges! yep... i'll never have to pick up another dumbbell or barbell again!

thanx, apple!

@OP. Yeah, because 10g more will break your muscles and your hand will hurt. Use the phone for more than a day and you'll forget eventually. Thanks to idiots like you who ask for lighter and thinner and lighter and thinner phones, Apple has to sacrifice a bunch of design elements (*cough* *cough* bending phone and protruding camera).

I'm pretty sure that nobody is going to refuse to buy the new 6S+ because it's 12% heavier than the 6+. It is however a disappointment for a phone which is already significantly bigger and heavier than the competition.

Out of curiosity: For those of you that do not like the 13 gram increase of the iPhone 6s compared to last year's iPhone 6 (20g for the Plus), Do you currently have a case on your phone? If you're getting a 6s/Plus, do you plan on getting a case for it?

While the majority of iPhones I see out in public have cases on them, I won't dispute the fact that there are people who prefer having a naked phone.

Some of the more common and/or "lightweight" cases for the iPhone 6:
iPhone 6 Silicone case: 17 grams
Incipio feather for iPhone 6: 0.7oz = 19.8 grams
Griffin Reveal for iPhone 6: 1.2oz = 34 grams
Otterbox Defender for iPhone 6: 70 grams
Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 6: 3.5oz = 99.22 grams

Also, for comparison: A single US nickel is 5 grams.

Edit/Add:
I currently have an Apple Leather case on my iPhone 6, which should weigh more than the silicone one. I just now took it off and holding the phone, I noticed the change in size and "grippiness", not so much the change in weight.

In my pocket, again it feels "smaller", but not so much lighter.

Like HEK said, we're all just arguing opinions at this point.

You posted:Maybe older folks will have a hard time.
Just how old are these OLDER FOLKS?

Then we must agree to disagree. For I don't see it as "quite substantial". we now argue opinions.

I think that a 12% weight increase using the same form factor is substantial. I am happy to agree to disagree.
