Out of curiosity: For those of you that do not like the 20 gram increase of the iPhone 6s compared to last year's iPhone 6, Do you currently have a case on your phone? If you're getting an 6s/Plus, do you plan on getting a case for it?

While the majority of iPhones I see out in public have cases on them, I won't dispute the fact that there are people who prefer having a naked phone.

Some of the more common and/or "lightweight" cases for the iPhone 6:
iPhone 6 Silicone case: 17 grams
Incipio feather for iPhone 6: 0.7oz = 19.8 grams
Griffin Reveal for iPhone 6: 1.2oz = 34 grams
Otterbox Defender for iPhone 6: 70 grams
Mophie Juice Pack Air for iPhone 6: 3.5oz = 99.22 grams

Also, for comparison: A single US nickel is 5 grams.

My 6+ feels noticeably heavier with a case on. I enjoy the weight of the phone when I take it out to clean it. So with the 6S+ it will be like putting two Incipio cases on instead of one...

If someone was able to go from any previous generation iPhone to a 6 or 6 Plus and adjust to the size and weight differences I think they'll be just fine if they upgrade to the 6S or 6S Plus.

Apple didn't increase the weight just to PO some people. There are differences in the phone and just like every S cycle, the form factor is going to stay the same. I won't even care if the 7 is heavier, especially if it meant a bigger / better battery. I'm happy the 6S is stronger and less likely to bend. I would literally be drop dead surprised if anyone could feel a difference in 13 - 20 grams after carrying it around for a week.

So you're all for Apple un-spoiling us and taking us back to the late 80s? :)
I thought Apple were all about cutting edge lightweight designs?
Some would love to double the weight and thickness of the phone with a four day battery. Course if they really want that they do sell battery cases that approach that. Grins......

3D Touch has yet to be shown that it has any worth. As for weight, the Note 5 has a larger screen and yet it's smaller & lighter. Plus it looks better due to the sleek modern design.
I know that the S models keep the same form factor but making it 12% heavier is a joke. The 6+ is already an obese phone so perhaps Apple should have held 3D Touch over for the iPhone 7. More RAM and a better camera would have done this time.

So that you could complain about the weight gain in the iPhone 7?

Using percentages to compare is so wonky. Whenever I see it (like when companies –even Apple– do it) I get a bit skeptical.

Each of these statements are equivalent, but the impact (or drama as mentioned) is different:
"The iPhone 6s Plus is 11.6279% heavier than the 6 Plus."
"The iPhone 6s Plus is 20 grams heavier than the 6 Plus."
"The iPhone 6s Plus weighs 4 nickels heavier than the 6 Plus."

The only dramatic thing in this thread is sunking101.

How am I being dramatic? A 12% weight increase on a phone with an identical form factor, and a phone which was already more cumbersome than the competition is substantial! For comparison; the Samsung Note 5 has a bigger display, is less tall, less wide and weighs 21g less than the 6S+.
For a forum of diehard tech fans that surely makes solemn reading and if not, it should do. For all Apple's design prowess they certainly haven't brought it to town with the 6/6+/6S/6S+.

I expect that you'll be among the first to congratulate Apple if they come out with a smaller, lighter iPhone 7+.

The way you're acting is quite dramatic IMO. 12% doesn't mean $h!t if that 12% is equal to 20g.

So if a 20g product is re-released as a 40g product then the weight increase will be trivial because 'it's only 20g'?
20g can be substantial despite being a relatively light weight. It's all relative.

That's what I was saying. If 20g = 12%, it means that it's always going to be the same weight (around 160 or so grams). For that kind of weight, it is already heavy enough to not make a huge difference.

I agree that it shouldn't be a dealbreaker for someone who really wants the 6S+. I'm merely saying, and arguing, that for an already heavy and cumbersome phone the weight increase is disappointing.

"already heavy and cumbersome" WTF man? The iPhone 6 was super light and comfortable, unless you're spoiled and you use an iPod Touch or something. What the hell are you talking about?

I've never done that. If your parents are accidentally doing that I feel bad for the pets in your house.

Are you saying you stroke your pets in a force touch manor? That's probably illegal in some states! Don't assume others do the same
