I think I've been misunderstood. I wasn't looking for an art film or something classic. I simply meant there is an art to film making. Consistent directing is necessary, especially in a faux documentry as the camera becomes a character itslef. Filling plot holes and explaining important details are necessary to the story and mistakes or odd details shouldn't just be ignored. In fact I think making the film a DOCUMENTRY it was even more important to explain missing facts.

I think I'm more than entitled to an opinion, and I stand by it. I see the entertaiment value in the film, but it had a lot of distracting flaws, and no memorable scenes. Making it a pretty disappointing film.

And Lee, I have nothing against pornographic films, I meant more of an old meaning for the word. As in rubish or meaningless drivel, meant to simply distract people.

If it makes money I doubt they care.

I personally like the movie, it was entertaining, although I really wanted to aliens to come back and blow the humans up.

:(:(:(:(

I was so psyched to see it, and it blew.

First: why were the aliens there?
Second: cat food? wtf?
Third: the aliens were obviously an advanced race, yet they were complete morons. And don't give me that working class vs. smart guy class, any mullet headed nascar junkie knows when they're being ripped off.
Fourth: why the hell would they shoot it like a documentary? There is no way in hell they could get half of those shots then!! There wasn't a camera guy with the main character for 90% of the movie. (PS: I am so sick and tired of faux documentaries)
Fifth: why the hell would an energy source turn what's-his-face into a shrimp?

Just saw it on DVD. Good movie! You're just too picky. :p

First: Does not require an answer immediately.
Second: Alien quirk.
Third: Species differences/incompatibilities? Obviously they were not all idiots as revealed by father/son alien.
Fourth: Movie changes from documentary to cinematic. I can accept that.
Fifth: Technology blended with DNA, very sci-fi.
