I have zero issues with phone calls with mine. Are you setting it up as a new iphone OR are you transferring from another iphone?

The only issue I'm having with mine is my phone gets very warm - even when reinstalling and setting it up as a new iphone. I'm on the latest update too which was supposed to rectify the problem. Today is day 14 since I picked it up, and i heard the non-pro 15's dont have this issue. I'm debating on getting the 15 plus with 256gb, or buying a 14 pro max used (or new if I can find it!). I really like the 120hz screen, but upset the 15 non-pro doesn't have it.

Honestly, I rarely make phone calls from my mobile. I guess I should test making a phone call. Well, this is going to feel a tad bit weird...

People still use iPhones to make phonecalls? I thought it was a glorified Insta cam... /s
Boy, this 15 Pro Max sounds like a real PITA.

Absolutely do not spend $1000+ on the 15 pro max. It has a bug that causes making a phone call practically impossible. You have to reboot the phone and you can make maybe one call before it freezes up.

Siri also doesn’t work. It spins and thinks and then shuts down. No amount of rebooting the phone will cause it to work.

Reinstalling the os does nothing. Wiping the phone and doing a fresh install does nothing. The newest update 17.0.3 does not fix the problem.

I have a case with apple. It’s in the hands of the engineers. So far….nothing.

i Don’t know if this happens with other models of the 15 but I know at least 5 other people who are having this problem with the pro max.

DO. NOT. BUY.

It’s a $1000 paperweight.
lol. just return it. not everyone will get a lemon

A bit more info would make this a better post. There might be help from other people with similar (solved) problems. What network are you on? Where in the world? SIM or eSIM? Does FaceTime (audio) work on WIFI? Case or no case? Corporate managed profile or private? Unlocked or carrier locked?

Make sure you turn off the camera app promptly after taking pix. That is one way 14s and 15s can help avoid overheating.

Today I discovered 5 people - four colleagues - who have the same issue. They couldn’t call Apple because they can’t make phone calls. I directed them to chat support.

Sounds like an issue with cell coverage or your cell carrier if it's happening to 5 people that you know.

Which isn't an iPhone problem - that's a you problem.

Really glad to stick with my 13 Mini. The 15s sound like a disaster that’s not worth the money. Hopefully the 16 is more stable.
Key words in your post: "sounds like..." Folks need to make decisions based on things other than "sounds like" when trolls post nonsense like this OP just to create "sounds like."

Real 15 buyers like me report a superb new phone.

It’s not silly. It’s a $1000 phone that doesn’t make….phone calls. Seems to me a fairly basic function. Of a $1000 PHONE.

this is also my second phone.

imagine needing to call 911 in an emergency. And it won’t make a call.
Oh, so it's an android? :)

what are you getting then?

I can tell you aren't a software engineer of any kind.

Half my day is spent trying to replicate issues that a tiny fraction of people experience in the system I work on.
I think the point was that even a tiny fraction of people is a huge number when unit sales are in the millions.

Dang op is super hard pressed here.
I’d just return non stop til I get a perfect phone. Or just return it altogether as you expect failure.

Hilarious. What compels people to post this stuff? 😊 Got multiple 15 Pro Max 1TB phones that work perfect.

Got an issue? Work with Apple to resolve.

Spewing contempt for a specific product on here isn’t gonna help anything. Especially your issues. 😊

Whatever. Instead of contributing to existing threads you make a new one. I have had mine since launch day. ZERO problems.
My wife and I have had one (each) since the launch day with the same experience. Even my wife, who seems to have terrible luck with cell connections, has noticed a big improvement with the 15P compared to her 14P.

My point being is that I understand some have issues. Don’t mind the complaints. Just don’t open a new thread when the topic is already being discussed on at least 2 other threads. If not more.

I wish I was the one who discovered this year’s “major issue” affecting Apple’s flagship phone. But if I had, I would document it and sell the story to a newspaper for a buck, not waste time on a forum trying to persuade people (who don’t have the issue) that there’s an issue.

I also discovered another person through here with the same issue.

i thought it wa initially a hardware issue. But this is now two phones in a row with the same issue.

im sure Apple will repair it. Until then you should absolutely not spend $1000+ dollars on a phone that cannot make….phone calls.

If I buy a first class ticket to nyc I doubt I’d be happy that the plane made it to Cleveland.
No, you didn't.
