Absolutely do not spend $1000+ on the 15 pro max. It has a bug that causes making a phone call practically impossible. You have to reboot the phone and you can make maybe one call before it freezes up.

Siri also doesn’t work. It spins and thinks and then shuts down. No amount of rebooting the phone will cause it to work.

Reinstalling the os does nothing. Wiping the phone and doing a fresh install does nothing. The newest update 17.0.3 does not fix the problem.

I have a case with apple. It’s in the hands of the engineers. So far….nothing.

i Don’t know if this happens with other models of the 15 but I know at least 5 other people who are having this problem with the pro max.

DO. NOT. BUY.

It’s a $1000 paperweight.
Keep calm ☺️ not everyone has the same issue or experience as noted on your post😊 Hope you get the best phone and be happy with it 😊

Today I discovered 5 people - four colleagues - who have the same issue. They couldn’t call Apple because they can’t make phone calls. I directed them to chat support.

I also discovered another person through here with the same issue.

i thought it wa initially a hardware issue. But this is now two phones in a row with the same issue.

im sure Apple will repair it. Until then you should absolutely not spend $1000+ dollars on a phone that cannot make….phone calls.

If I buy a first class ticket to nyc I doubt I’d be happy that the plane made it to Cleveland.
Remind me not to get a job at your workplace. Clearly it’s a bad place to have a phone.

Keep in mind that on MacRumors, the label of "newbie" doesn’t necessarily mean a newly created account. It is a reflection of how many messages the account holder has posted, not how long they have been a member.

In the case of the OP, despite the account being labeled "newbie", they have actually been a member here since 2010.
That’s not necessarily any better. An account that has fewer than 30 posts that’s been around since 2010 and suddenly becomes active again is likely an account that’s been compromised or bought/sold.

If I go ahead and assume this is a real post - the most interesting tidbit I picked up is that the other people affected are all coworkers. Perhaps there is a work installed MDM that is causing an issue? This is most certainly not a widespread issue and there is most definitely a commonality among these users. What locale? What carrier? What anything else that might be relevant?

I have a 15 Pro Max and I am not having that problem. Or, well, any problem really. It's a pretty great phone. I kinda love it!

software glitches never happen to just a few people. This forum is followed by a tiny fraction of Apple owners. The lack of posting on here is not indicative of much.

but give this a shot: turn your phone off and try to dial 911. Pretend there’s a fire.

suddenly it’s not just a small glitch.

There was a fire last Saturday in my condo complex as an fyi.
Turn on WiFi calling 🙃

iPhone 15 pro max user here. T-Mobile. Zero issues with calls. My business heavily relies on phone calls. I’ve not had a single call drop. The only issue I’ve had is the heating issue the first 2 days but that was resolved with a software update.

You can’t tell me what to do

Are they company phones? If so, sounds like your IT department fracked something up.

If not company phones, do you have company software on it? That is the likely culprit given the rate of incidence within your company that no one else is seeing.

A third possibility is that you and your 4 colleagues work for the Samsung mobile division.
