I agree that it seems odd to cover up a product that is designed well and looks as cool as many of Apple's products do. My Ip4 is naked despite the free sleeve i got. As for the ipad, i reluctantly bought the Apple case, but now I am glad i did.

Always have it dressed in a Casecrown case. No screen protector either. I rarely take it out.

That aluminium is just too slippery for me to use it comfortably naked, so I put it in a Belkin Grip Vue(black) TPU case.
If I'm travelling with it in a bag or something, then it goes in a Cyber Acoustics Leather case.

This should be a poll.

I use the Apple case - much as I'd prefer to keep it naked, I travel with it too much and just don't want to risk get it too beat up. Plus the case is nice when watching a movie or typing since it keeps the iPad at a nice angle for each activity.

Now I use it naked. It just feels natural and I almost forgot how beautiful the device actually looks. When I'm not using it, i put it in the apple case I used before. But for sure when I get the next ipad I will be buying a sleeve case to put the ipad in when not in use, and use it naked how it was intended.

In the hand it is naked, as I look after my stuff. When mobile it is in a protective bag with air-cushioned shick shongers.

I can understand having a cover for your iphone but why the ipad? normally you will only have it in your house anyway. Can it really get damaged there?

Lol, i've had my ipad for 2 weeks and i can count on one hand the number of times i've left home without it... maybe because i'm female and always have a bag to put it in.. or maybe because it helps cater to my short boredom threshold? anyway I have a half hour train commute to work each way each day so its perfect for that and for filling in spare time when necessary. I've watched 30 episodes of Mad Men in that time ;)

I don't know about you, but I take it with me almost everywhere. It's great for reading books or surfing the net while on trains/buses, and I can also get some light work done on it. Makes my commuting time a lot more productive.

I keep it in a Belkin Grip Vue cover, with a screen protector. I like the extra grip it gives me, and I also like not having to worry about getting it scratched up.

I take my iPad with me, to work, and many places I go, like a cell phone. When commuting it goes in my backpack. So a case is a no-brainer.

I managed to drop my iPad 3-4 feet into a poddle of water at a parking lot. Thankfully I had a case on it and the iPad was only lightly dented/scratched. Without the case the screen might be broken and very likely it would suffer water damage. :D

I used to do the Apple case for typing and outdoor use, naked at home.

The Apple case is a grime magnet though, so I switched to the incase pleather folio style case. It's really really bulky but it disguises my ipad as smething other than an iPad when I'm on the street and provides a little protection against drops. It's a lot easier to get the iPad in and out of the incase compared to the Apple case, which makes it easier to use it naked at home.

I've been using the marware C.E.O. hybrid case and love it. Still keeps an extremely svelte form factor

I keep mine in a case. Since I fly for an airline, and the case gives my iPad the extra protection it needs.

I really liked the iPad naked but found that there were WAY too many situations where having the case double as a stand came in handy. Note taking at meetings is far better with the case set up to give a little angle. Movie watching is another. As a result, it stays in the Apple case all the time. Only complaint is how dirty the case gets.

I've kept my iPad in a clear Belkin grip-vue and a Belkin pleated sleeve since launch day. My iPad is completely scratch free so far. :D

I use a Design & Motion leather case. I had an Apple Case and gave it away. The D&M case adds a lot of bulk, but I have large hands, so it feels more comfortable to me that way. I also like the ability to use it as a stand in many different positions, so I would never go caseless.

I've always been a naked man my self :) with ipods, iphones etc. I will get iPad2 and definitely not use a case.

I love the way they feel and look. An iPod felt so much better in the hand bare. That stainless steel back felt really luxurious. It felt really good and it was someting to admire. I hate cases. i hate the way they look, feel.

I bought an ipod years ago, and got one of those silicon skins for it. I hated the way it looked and thought it made it look poxy. What's worse is after a year of using it, dirt had gotten under the skin and trapped there rubbing around scratching the hell out of it. So it actually did more damage than good.

Now I just leave them bare. Look after them. If i'm going to store it or put it in a bag or something then i have a little soft slip bag that I use just to protect it from keys etc. But I think the device is there to use and enjoy, not hide away in a lame and poxy looking case.
