I never turn data off. I like the seamless way that I can get home and my WiFi naturally takes over.
I don't use public WiFi and we don't have WiFi at work, so the only place that I connect to WiFi is at home.

PICTURE TEXT won't send at all whether it be MMS or SMS. I need to have DATA ON. It's strange. I was under the impression PICTURE TEXT was under the my free unlimited texting plan. Also, when on WI-FI, I also need to have DATA ON to send Picture texts.
SMS and MMS go though the carrier and thus need the carrier cellular connection to work. MMS uses data it's just data that doesn't count against your data allowance and instead gets counted as part of your messaging plan (which is unlimited for you).

I turn it off when I don't need it. First, I leave in an area with no coverage, second, even when on coverage I turn it off when I don't need it to save battery life. I have a 5s, my favourite iPhone, but as I said in another thread, battery life is the only thing I do not like of this phone, so if I don't do some effort to save battery life, it doesn't last the whole day, I guess I should buy a battery pack :p

I never turn it off, but I do turn off wifi when I know I won't be anywhere near available wifi for a while. I don't know how much it helps to my battery but I do it out of habit nowadays. I have 10GB shared data with someone else, but we barely go over 7gb together combined at the end of the month, no real worries.

I get unlimited data for £15 a month, so I just leave it on, unless travelling to a country where I get charged for data roaming, though with the 3 network I get free mobile data in most the countries I visit frequently now

I get 500MB of data very month so I turn it on only for checking emails and casual Web browsing and then turn it off.

Yes, I always leave it on. I used to switch it on/of at certain moments, but 'back then' I only had 1 GB of data. Now I've got 6 GB, which is absolutely plenty. Last month T-mobile even gave users another 4 GB for free, to celebrate that they offer 4G coverage in the whole country now. Since I've got those 6 GB of data, I never get below the 2 GB mark anyway (unfortunately there's no way to have 4 or 5 GB, only 500 MB, 1 GB, 3 GB, 6 GB and 12 GB).

I sometimes even use it when there's a wi-fi network, since 4G here is pretty darn fast at quite some locations.

Wow, I don't know how you can handle just 500MB a month. I blew through 600MB on my 1 hour drive into work today haha

Can you elaborate on what you used 600mb while you driving?
Google Play Music streaming with lots of skips since I was listening to a new playlist and didn't care for quite a few songs. It's set to high quality audio as well.
