It’s really not. Perhaps someone can draw together these arguments of why Liquid Glass is an improvement, I can’t find any here.
because, like most angry people, you only see what you choose to see 🤷

EDIT: we can keep going back-&-forth, but the fact remains: LG is the new look. there will (hopefully) be refinements, improvements, but this is it. and all the arguing and complaining on a macrumors forum won't change that fact. so six months from now, when you're tired of arguing and are just using your mac... i'll be six months in of... just using my mac. that sounds good to me 🙏

You’re right. I have poor eyesight.

No problem, perhaps you can pull together a little report for us and share the results. I can’t seem to find these arguments, but we’d benefit from your help.

I think there’s a quote function on here too, if that helps.

The irony in this is fkin priceless.

Your condescending tone reveals a lot, you know. Here is a pro tipp: If you're happy with Liquid Glass, be happy, move along, go outside and touch some grass. And let those who have an issue with it talk about it in peace.

that sounds incredibly condescending; do you not see this? and what is the problem: are ppl so afraid of a contrary point-of-view? a discussion without any opposing viewpoint is not a discussion at all

You aren't adding anything to the conversation.

At all.

You're just trolling. First you tell people they are not objective. Then you tell them they are panicking. Then you tell them they are a mob. Then you tell them they are angry.

It's obvious you have an issue with people criticizing something that you like, and it bugs you so hard that you lost control and started insulting everyone.

Get a grip.

It would be nice if we could keep the discussion on topic (let the Mods be judicious in evaluating content)

I was really hoping there would a "spirited discussion" of 's dev direction and choices, not ppl defending themselves or attacking each other. We're all clearly devoted to the ecosphere to have such strong feeling.

I posted some screenshots earlier hoping it would illustrate the exaggerated bluriness of the control panel in 'light mode', does everyone feel this is nominal/par for the course?. In hopes of bringing everyone together evaluating macOS 26... Do you feel that the heavy blurry breeding background is practical?

i feel like your post here is doing exactly what you are accusing me of doing.

"It's obvious you have an issue with people criticizing something that you like, and it bugs you so hard that you lost control and started insulting everyone."

exactly, for the people who don't like LG 👍

i don't tell people they are 'not objective', i point out when they claim objectivity while clearly stating an opinion. and shutting down ppl who actually like the GUI sure feels like mob behavior. anyway, angry ppl are angry, i can't change that

People shared screenshots with examples and discussed how unbelievably grotesque and absurd some of it is, while others chimed in saying it doesn't bother them.
And this isn't hyperbole?

The irony in this is fkin priceless.

So in a thread asking if we "like Liquid Glass on Mac" only negative opinions are welcome. If we like it we should be quiet and go away?

Edit: I will concede that pretty much all of us in here could dial it down a notch, and be a bit more respectful. Myself included.

I would love to hear from users who like it. I WANT to like it. Maybe someone could offer ways of 'lessening the Liquid glass FX'? (please share)

I'd also love to hear from those who hate it... but why? Moreover, have you tried to adjust settings to correct/minimze the issue you hate? (please share)

I like Liquid Glass. For sure it's not 100% perfect on release (Oh the shock! Who'd have thought‽), but the kinks will be worked out, and it will be fine.

I was ready for something new, and really wanted my fond memories of the Aqua of earlier versions of OS X to remain fond memories. I think Liquid Glass is a good start. I'm looking forward to seeing more apps take advantage of it, and to see how it evolves over the next few years. Maybe with the extra customisation they'll allow tinting interface element? (Not that I'm asking for it, I tend to run close to stock)

For me, personally, it comes down to expectation. I didn't expect it to be perfect on release, and I like what I see despite there being a few rough corners. I do expect it will keep getting better.

so for you the Glass FX isnt a hinderance on screen but there room for improvement👍

For me it's hard, my only solution was reduce transparency and run in dark mode. (Which is the worst setting for my eye issues) —I realize its 'my personal needs/preference' just seems weird that Apple would create something that would marginalize a segment of the usrbase.

It'd be great to hear from a cross-section of visually impaired users what they think of 26. and how they're adapting (maybe best for another thread??)

PS> I too have an inkling that this might/will be addressed in future versions —at least I HOPE 😅

Exactly.

I feel the same way. Well said.

My eyesight is on the poorer end of the spectrum. My 95 year old grandpa has better eyesight than I do! I guess my specific combination of sight problems work sufficiently well with Liquid Glass.

I'm fine with it majority of the time, but they can look pretty ugly depends on what they sit on top of, sometimes instead of glass they looked like plastic menu/button people used to make in the early 2000s.

Just send feedback to Apple. Hope alone won't do anything.
I'm not visually imaired but I'm easily distracted and it is so much harder to work on Liquid Glass. And Apple isn't giving users any choice. I mean, all the settings that can be set (less transparency, no aminations,...) make it just ugly. It isn't refined at all. As if they didn't think about it.
The text in Finder got so much bigger. When I choose to make it smaller, it is almost too small. Why didn't they give the option to make it as big as in former versions to a setting what people are used to? This makes absolutely no sense.
Why did they choose to make the corners that round? Screens are still a rectangle. It just feels wrong.
Why are they using different kinds of round corners? like in Numbers, Pages, the corners round shape is minimal. In Notes, Safari,... corners are 1/4 of a ball. are aren't consistent in their own design.

yes, and 'I second' sending Apple feedback (I forget adding that comment in general - but always a 1st stop for issues IMO)👍
