I like it. I hope the next update, the lock screen clock and widget is more glassy.
Wow, I hadn't opened up Contacts yet in OS26. This is abysmal. Among many other things, I have to scroll to see the information on a single contact card!Contacts app in Tahoe looks like it woke up in the wrong OS. Someone tell Apple Handoff wasn’t meant for design shortcuts.

Truly. And I'm genuinely afraid of what's gong to happen to Logic Pro if the interface and windows are anything like what we see here. Why are window edges so rounded? It’s wasting valuable screen real estate, especially on 13” and 14” Macs.
what's going to happen to logic pro? that and FCP don't change based on the OS design (altho some notification windows, etc are of course system-level). they do see updates sometimes to accomodate a new OS. anyway both look fine here, and run well on OS 26 👍Truly. And I'm genuinely afraid of what's gong to happen to Logic Pro if the interface and windows are anything like what we see here.
That's the main reason I've not updated. I mean, I always wait until at least version n.1, but as it stands, losing screen real estate is a showstopper. Why are window edges so rounded? It’s wasting valuable screen real estate, especially on 13” and 14” Macs.
I've not used Logic for a while, but apps with dense interfaces – such as DAWs – want to use every pixel. tbh, I find the rounded edges in Sequoia et al. too much.Truly. And I'm genuinely afraid of what's gong to happen to Logic Pro if the interface and windows are anything like what we see here.
logic looks like it always does, as does final cut. and really... how many pixels and how much usable real estate are we losing with round corners? i am not experiencing any perceivable loss in my apps (like the aforementioned, or pages, notes, etc).I've not used Logic for a while, but apps with dense interfaces – such as DAWs – want to use every pixel. tbh, I find the rounded edges in Sequoia et al. too much.
Did you mean less like or more like glass? The longer I use it, the more I'm hating it. What settings are you guys using to make it look like glass like design?
Logic and Final Cut have yet to be updated, same with the iWork apps.logic looks like it always does, as does final cut. and really... how many pixels and how much usable real estate are we losing with round corners? i am not experiencing any perceivable loss in my apps (like the aforementioned, or pages, notes, etc).
More like glass rather than dull plastic. I’m on iMac M3 24GB, 4 ports. I don’t think it’s possible to make it more clearer, it just looks dull to me. Icons, border lines, window edges…just dull not glass like.Did you mean less like or more like glass?
You don’t understand how a company like that is structured so you simplified it down to one person overseeing a lot more than he can oversee.
The Downloads text isn't in the centre.
You should have seen what OS X used to look like in the early days! Now THAT was the Fisher-Price interface for toddlers!macOS Tahoe looks like it was designed for toddlers. They should have named it macOS Fisher-Price.
No one asked for our opinions either, yet here we all are.View attachment 2551430
My dock, with a spreadsheet behind it. I honestly couldn't care less how accurate the glass behaviour is, no asked for this crap.

Compared to Windows XP, those early versions of OS X were a REVELATION to me. They showed me how an OS can make my life nicer, and easier. I have a lot of fond memories of OS X from Jaguar onwards. In their day, they looked fantastic! However, to my eyes, they have not aged well at all. I've been ready to move on from the dead flat style. I didn't hate it, nor did I want to go back to some retro "Aqua 2.0" design, but I've been ready for something new. Liquid Glass still has a few rough edges, but it's nice to see some playfulness coming back. I'm happy it's here, and look forward to seeing how it evolves. It was a very different era of "fun", especially coming on the heels of the colorful iMacs.
Tech as a whole was so aspirational and more interesting and fun back then.
It's turned into a utility in our lives and has dystopian elements to it now.
Really just can't usefully compare an era of tech from a quarter century ago.
I do miss that era of computing. It was a lot of fun figuring out all the things we could do with all these exciting new machines. Advances were large, new tech was exciting, and there were always new ideas and technologies that were unlocking new abilities.
Also, I was young back then, didn't hurt so much, and wasn't so tired!!!Me too.
It was really fun.
am not worried about LP & FC changing much; in my experience, these apps tend to take their own path (using, of course, system-level notification windows, error windows, etc). been using both for yearsssss.......Logic and Final Cut have yet to be updated, same with the iWork apps.
Whilst any loss of pixels isn't ideal for a notebook user (where space is at a premium) I guess the counter argument here is, what do you gain with more rounded corners?
I wear glasses and lets say "old and visually impaired"...
I "reduced transparency" but this is ridiculous! The 'shadowing' of Safari's toolbars sometimes float (making it hard to read) and change flat again site to site. Im getting vertigo 🤣
...and why can't we Increase Contrast OR Reduce Transparentcy? There is no inbetween— either flat or this awful 'Glass look'. WHy no slide like previous OSs so each user can SEE to fit their needs?
