i miss them often myself, but then again it wouldn't be that hard for me to check the main page once and awhile either.

Are there articles here?

I have to say a definite YES.

I find myself spending more and more time here - Looking for interesting posts, or people who need help with some Mac/Apple related issue.

I love this site. Very helpful and informative; however the one thing that really gets on my nerves are the sillyness of some posts (what colour bookmark should I buy? How many people in sometown, somewhere are gonna buy the iphone2? etc etc)

Seems a lot of post-count padding if you ask me.

But as I don't have to read them then I guess its ok. The majority of users seem to be helpful, informative and patient.

9/10 from me :)

Hey, I'm with you bunny! Sometimes I wonder how they get dressed in the morning without asking what color socks we think they should wear!

or what the little round things are on english muffins? (but it was an honest question) and everyone responded in form, very entertaining indeed. I love it here:cool:

I, personaly, like how this thread is going right now. Some of you thought that this thread is dum and pointless. Well, until now, I really enjoy reading people's opinion, and appreciate that the mods/admins also contributed.

Through this thread, you can show the quality of the MacRumors Forum community. I am proud to be one of the many members.

I do. It's a pretty well thought out forum with some decent sections.

However, It was better back in the day. I think all places like this get to a point where they become really big and some of the best posters don't like it and leave. I think many of the best posters left this site quite a while ago and there are some that I miss reading.

Not MR's fault, just evolution.

back in what day would that be? there are still a lot of older posters around, but there are more new people too, so they might not be as 'high profile' as they once were. and all forum are cyclical.

It's not so much as I want to go here as it is I need to go here....:p

This place has some faults, but all in all, yeah, I like it. I'm not here as often as I used to be, but that's just because I've gotten involved with other things lately, not because I don't like it anymore.

This is the longest I've stayed on any forum, and I plan to be a member here for a very long time.

Yes, I like macrumors. This site is so helpful, plus I can talk to other people who enjoy using their macs

I agree with this. I still like MacRumors, but I think the growth of the popularity of the Mac has led to this issue. I get annoyed by all the newbies that don't use the search function. I can't stand it when I see a new thread about what handbrake settings are the best or something similar.

Also, to me, the Buying Advice forum has become a no visit place most of the time. It seems like every thread is, should I buy now or later? Which is about the dumbest thread one could post.

But overall, a good forum and site. And very helpful when I need assistance. Just remember to search first!

Duff-Man says...I check the news/rumor front page daily at least once - it's almost always very up to date with the latest info, so in that regard I still like MR very much.

The forums however, well that's another story. Yes indeed there are many great threads with tons of excellent tips and information, but the increase in the number of useless posts and pointless threads has increased to the point where it has almost become a total waste of time for me now. I said this in another thread recently but it applies to this topic better I think - I always figured Mac users were somewhat brighter on average, but when I see the same new threads appearing over and over and over and over I have to wonder. "What browser..." "VMWare or Parallels" "Can I use the system restore disk from my whatever to install on every Mac in the city" (followed of course by the inevitable done to death debate about whether it is piracy or illegal or whatever, with of course the inevitable excuses that I am a poor student or I've bought Apple stuff since whenever so I am entitled to write my own license agreement etc etc etc). I think you get my drift. Sheesh people - don't be so lazy. In many cases a simple search will find the answer to your question quicker than creating a new thread and waiting for someone to respond.

I suppose the problems I see are a byproduct of the growth of Apple and this forum (as a few others have said as well), and I *do* think the mods here do an excellent job keeping a balance between it being a free-for-all or a fascist state......oh yeah!
