I currently live within 5 miles of where I used to live when I was a kid! :D

Seriously though, I lived in a different part of the philadelphia area right after I moved out, which was about 20 miles away. Then I moved again after about 6 months to the place I live now.

I was born in a country that no longer exists. (East Germany) But my parents moved to West Germany in 1987. Since then I moved 13 time. I have lived for 15 months in the Netherlands and for 2.5 years in Alamogordo, NM. Now I am back in Germany to finish my bachelor degree. But after that, I want to leave Germany, again. I guess, when you move so often as I do, there is no place you could call home or that could make you stay forever.

My father was in the military, so we moved around a lot, mostly on the eastern coast of the US. So I've been around a bit, and don't live where I was born which was South Carolina. Hot down there. I prefer the more moderate temps a bit farther north.

Grew up in Indiana, live in Washington, and probably won't head back there at any point except to visit! No mountains, ocean, etc.

I've lived in the same town all my life except for my first day where I was born in a nearby hospital in the same county (Pitkin).

Nope. I'm a native Californian living in London, England. I'm not sure I'll be back to live there again but you never know... I never expected to find myself here either.

Born in San Diego and now live in the Seattle area.

I might be back to San Diego, its a really nice place to live. I graduate in a year, so we will se where life takes me.

Not me. Born in Cleveland which is a good place to be born from what I remember, and a good place to grow up. Left at 17 and have been back to visit and even try to live again. Like sun and warm weather too much. Lived in California & Colorado for 10 years and now North Carolina for past nine.

I do. My problem is that I found a really good job here, so I may never end up leaving, which scares me at times...but I have been fortunate to travel a lot.

I was born in Whakatane, New Zealand and still live there. I spent a year in Hamilton in 2001 but otherwise have lived here all my life :)

Yup. I was born a couple cities away, but I lived in the same town my whole life.

No. I was born in Rover, Arkansas and have lived in a a few places since then. I currently reside in a small town called Boerne, Texas, about 30 miles north-west of San Antonio. (It's actually much less I think, but that's what the signs say.)

I wouldn't exactly want to live where I was born. I've been through there a few times since I left, and it hasn't changed in the slightest. One gas station, one hair salon, (which is in a mobile home)one church, a few houses. But there's a town about 15 miles down the road and across a mountain called Danville (I've also lived there) that I would love to go back to.

Just curious, how many of you here still live in the state/county/city you were born (whatever the country)?

If you don't, do you ever intend going back to live there?

No, I don't live in the city where I was born right now.
I moved many times and will probably move somewhere else someday (I am thinking Australia), who knows.

Duff-Man says...I was born and grew up in Toronto. I moved to the west coast (Victoria) quite a few years ago, and now I split my time between here and Albuquerque. Probably sometime around the beginning of 2009 I will be in Abq on a more permanent basis. Someday I'd like to live in a completely different place too though - I've had thoughts of retiring in New Zealand for instance, or maybe Switzerland....oh yeah!

I was born in the city and county of Denver, but later moved to Cherry Hills Village in Arapahoe County ten months later.:p

I have the travel bug. I've already been to 21 countries in sixteen years, and I see myself jetsetting across the world for a living. However, ultimately, I'll probably end up here, in the same house.

Started life in Cambridge UK - travelled world - moved to Turkey (5 years).......moved back to Cambridge (5 years) ........... moved back to Turkey.

Still trying to decide which weather I prefer.

Yup. I was born a couple cities away, but I lived in the same town my whole life.

Similar to me then.

Born in the Peninsula, grew up in Fremont (ultimate suburbia), and I'll likely end up settling in San Francisco for a time, and if I think kids would be better served outside of the city, then I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I was born in a state of bewilderment, and to be honest I'm still living in it.

I live only about 30 miles away from where I was born, still in the same county (in the UK sense of the word). I've lived in one town or the other all my life, save for four years at university 90 or so miles away.
