I've lived within 5 miles of where I am right now(San Jose, CA), my whole life (30 years). However, beginning Aug.1st I will be living somewhere near Chicago, IL. I asked the company I work at if I could transfer to our office near there, and got the go ahead. Getting financial assistance from the company to cover the cost of the move, just need to decide on where exactly to live out there. My brother moved out a few years ago, and currently lives in Lafayette, IN about 3 hours away from where I will be!

I was born in Geelong and lived there all through school. Moved to Melbourne (about an hour away) for uni when I was 18. Lived there for two years and I just recently moved to Canberra (about 8 hours away) for uni also. There's no way I'd ever live in Geelong again. I loved Melbourne and will probably wind up living there, but not before spending some time abroad, hopefully in New York!

I was born a couple towns over, but have lived in 4 places of which 3 are within a 2 block radius and the other just a mile away.

Not sure if I will be able to move away because I am away from the city enough to allow for plenty of open space, while still being close enough that trips to the city are very reasonable.

I lived in the same state, city, house and bedroom until I got married (my wife had the same experience too). Over the last 8 years, we have moved 5 times - each father away until this last move

Same country different state. Had to move further south for nicer weather but not so far south that vacations are spent traveling home.

Same state, yes, but more than 400 miles away from where I was born. I went to university in the same state (California) where I was born, but more than 600 miles away! If I were on the East Coast or Europe, that could be several states or even countries.

In fact, although I lived in the same county, I never lived in the city where I was born.

No. Born in the Keesler AFB hospital, in Biloxi Mississippi (Jan 1991), now I live in South Central Alaska. There were some other places I have lived, some due to the military, some not.

LOL - Yes.

I still live in the same town that I was born in, and in fact have taken over my parents old house, when they retired, so I am actually back in the same house I lived in when I went to High School.

Eww, no.

The world is too big to stay in one place.

Born outside of the US, grew up as a military brat, left for college in another state....and once finished, moving to another state or country.

Born in the UK. I've been to Europe and the US, nothing wrong with either just outside my comfort zone. Would love to see Ireland though.

^ Ireland is spectacular. We almost moved there 8 years ago, pops was offered a job and I had just finished school. Thought it might have been a great start for me. But I got into college here and he got offered a better job so we stayed put.

At the time it was a cheap place to live, affordable large houses (unlike England), plenty of room to breath. Great place.

Aside from living in west London during uni term time, if lived in the same house since I was born. I love travelling though, and try to go away when I can afford it. I wouldn't rule out ever living abroad in a nice enough place.

I moved six times and lived in six different states since I was born, about to be seven. I suppose I'm just not one for staying around in one place for too long.

I've done the uprooting thing several times now. Stockport -> Southampton -> Leicester -> London. Hopefully soon be doing it again with a -> Barcelona to add.

(I've left ZA out because I was there less than a year before coming back to the UK.)

Nope. I was born one county to the south of here, in the main hospital for the health network. I've lived in the same house since I came home from there, though. And I have no idea what I'll wind up doing after high school. I'm shooting for a scholarship that the Lilly Endowment runs that gives two high school graduates in each county in Indiana a full ride to any university in Indiana, so I may wind up staying in-state. But after that, who knows? I am thinking about being a teacher, so I may wind up somewhere exotic, or I might wind up teaching at the little Catholic school I just graduated out of, like one of my teachers did. Heh. That may be the only way to ingrain myself into that school more than I already am.

Born in NYC and lived there all my 45 years until I moved to Long Island a few months ago.

I grew up in Nashville, TN (USA), but have lived in New Orleans, LA for the last 10 years. I'm a lifer here and would not even consider moving back or going anywhere else. This is the only place in the world I feel at home now. I don't even leave for hurricanes.
