Is the X screen size a problem for Plus switchers?

^ Maybe, but when would you ever power these off? I only do it maybe once or twice a year.

These phones are computers. I power them off daily for 10-15 m
I don't really miss it. I will need to get used to a slightly smaller keyboard again.

Why not give it 12 days. By then, you will have embraced the notch mindset. 😱

The notch actually hasnt bothered me as much as I thought it wouldve. What bothers me are the apps that havent been optimized for the X; 2 large black bars, 1 on top and 1 on the bottom. Maybe they'll get updated but since most of those are the universal ones like CBS Fantasy and such and not Apple exclusive, Im not holding my breathe.

Appreciate your pictures but what you should show is the same app, say PayPal in both formats. Personally after having the X for 1 day and primarily because I use my phone in portrait mode mainly I prefer the longer display. Native X apps look the goods.

Take a look at the Safari screenshots... the width difference is enough to include the browser tabs on the Plus without any loss of website contents.
Also note that content space is lost additionally, with the content having to avoid the notches and curved screen edges.

yep, feels like an actual downgrade to me and makes typing with two hands as i usually do very uncomfortable

It’s going to take some time to get used to the X. When I first bought a plus it was a day at the most. I just don’t know yet on the X

Yes the size is a nice break from the plus being a little too big at times but this may be too small.

Def not worth 1000.00 imo since I was free and clear of my 7 plus

I miss it and this is why I'm taking back the X. If the X was as wide as the Plus but didn't have the chin or forehead then I would probably keep the X. I have big hands and the width of the X wasn't working for me. I'm just going to wait until next year to see what's what.

I’m keeping mine. But I was expecting the same thing. My guess is Apple did this purposely. Have a small phone, and a big phone (8 plus) for its’ customers. Only odd thing is the small phone is the marquee phone lol.

Next year I think Apple will introduce an Xs series which would be an upgrade to this one, along side with an X plus series which features a wider phone, and prob slightly taller.

Damn, the bottom picture with the Plus and X in landscape is humiliating for the X. Especially with that horrendous notch. I'd pick a Plus over an X any day.
Just look at the wasted space either side in safari landscape. It is an impractable shaped screen which is not best for most content. I have an X on order, but am tempered to cancel before it arrives. May visit my local Apple store and get some hands on an X before deciding.

Narrow screen sized with taller dimensions makes the X feel... really narrow, really skinny. Makes content feel claustrophobic, IMO.

Into my second day with the X. I truly miss the size of the plus, however like others said, the actual size of this device is perfect. I just need those few days to adjust to not having the wider width.

It’s a ridiculously small difference. I don’t miss it at all. I did love my 7+ but it was a gigantic brick with a ton of wasted space! This is much smalller and easier to carry in your pocket. My only concern is that it is really slick. I am afraid of dropping it.

I think the X aspect ratio was just copying the Samsung 8. I don’t know why Apple feel they have to copy Samsung?

The 16:9 shaped screen as in the 8 and 8 plus is best for most purposes. If they had just kept that screen shape with smaller bezels on the X it would have been perfect

I can fit the entire X in the screen of the 8 Plus. The difference in width is very noticeable. So disappointing. The Plus makes it feel like a toy.

I see the difference but it doesn’t bother me at all. The picture is not that much smaller, but the phone is a lot smaller. Big plus for me. The lack of updated app support is the disappointment for me.

I'm getting used it. and I think I prefer the look and usability of the "longer apps" I get my on my X.

that being said, if apple does a X+ with a 6.4" I will buy that.

For me, I feel I am already getting used to the smaller screen.

But more importantly for me, the FACE ID IS THE KING TECH OF ALL TECH.

I had "forgotten" I was using an X last night, talking to girlfriend, I casually unlocked my phone AND 1Password which was the front most app ~ with my ugly face ~!!!!

OMG WORTH IT RIGHT THERE

if I had a dime for every time I had to press that damn Touch ID (that's how convenient faceID is to me now, I now swear at Touch ID) so if I had a dime for every time I had to touch it, I think I will pay off this X within the year!!

I thought I was going to miss the wider screen having had every Plus since the original 6 Plus, but actually it was a much easier transition than I thought. Still having a few typos here and there but nothing that auto correct doesn’t fix.

My only complaint with this phone is the battery life. I set up as new but at 10:08am I am down to 82% with my normal usage for this time of day. My Plus was normally around 96% at this time of day. Will have to just adjust to shorter battery life. I truly expected it to not be as noticeable, and I even set up as new to avoid any issues with a back up.

I feel as this phone is the successor to the 6 or 7. And for 6 or 7 users. They are fine with it. For plus users, it seems like they were overlooked. Had they offered the choice of an X and and X plus. That would have satisfied most users.

Only thing I miss the plus size is this forum. Much harder to read on the iPhone now. Feels too narrow.
