I used my iPhone to pay for my Starbucks drink this morning for the first time. it was neat, but I don't see how it was any easier or quicker than swiping my Starbucks card.

My iPhone is permanently attached to my hand, my Starbucks card isn't. :p

hehehe.:) I keep my card in my wallet. I'm quicker on the draw with pulling the card out of it than I am unlocking my phone, launching the app and then scanning it.

This thread inspired me to download the app and pay with my phone. So much fun. :)

I also just discovered a new favorite: Caffé Misto. It's half brewed coffee and half steamed milk. To me it just tastes like their lattes, though with slightly more caffeine for $1 less. Don't know why I didn't try it sooner; I guess I always assumed that it wouldn't be as good.

If I'm feeling special I order it with mocha sauce. :D

I have a membership, just don't carry the card anymore. The iPhone app means one less card I have to carry around in my wallet :)

I go to a Starbucks store on average about once a week, so my Starbucks card is a gold one.

1) I buy their whole-bean Pikes Place to grind (got a nice burr grinder) and brew at home (standard drip machine with a metal filter.) I drink about 20 or 30 oz of that per day. (About 600 to 800 ml.) Occasionally when I have the time, I'll use a French press.

2) I tried the brewed coffee at a Starbucks store a couple times - absolutely nasty. I don't understand why, since its the same beans as I use at home. Maybe they don't clean their equipment properly.

3) Therefore if I want a "normal" coffee at a Starbucks store rather than a milk-heavy drink like a latte, I get a grande Americano.

4) My other drink, if I want something sweet, is a grande mocha.

5) I had a Clover brewed cup of coffee a couple days ago. Tasted like what I brew at home. Much better than the standard drip they sell, but not anything out of the ordinary.

6) The best coffee I've ever had in my life was in Rome. Something about the espresso they make there, it's quite different from anything I've ever found here in the US. It had a strong coffee flavor, but was ultra smooth with no bitterness. I want to go back to Italy one day just for the food and drink.

7) Using the card requires fewer steps than using the iPhone app, so I never bother with the phone anymore when purchasing Starbucks.

Here in the UK we don't get an actual Gold Card, (you guys get your name on one right?)
But we do have Gold "Status" when you buy 50 drinks..

Caramel Macchiato, extra pump of Vanilla, Skinny, Slightly Wet! :p

Starbucks cards are so last year. I use the app.

Grande Dirty Chai or Cafe Mocha :D
I don’t get why people always hate on Starbucks, they’re coffee isn’t that bad! Much better than Folgers, that’s for sure.

Just reached gold level 2 weeks ago so I don't have my card yet. Was never a big Starbucks fan until I moved out here to Seattle. They're on every corner so it's hard to avoid. Just a normal caramel frap for me.

Coffee Drinker

I'm don't already have a starbucks gold card but I'm also kind a person that carving for a cups of coffee everyday specially at the breakfast and during break time to work. Any flavor just it's coffee, there's no problem fro me.

I don't have a Gold Card, as I rarely get coffee from Starbucks. There are some coffee shops around campus that I frequent, however.

I do.

Favorite is easily the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

During the rest of the year I rotate through Skinny Vanilla Latte, Chai Tea Latte, Cinnamon Dolce Latte, and an Americano

Big fan of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. The Starbucks version is much better than the Caribou Coffee version IMHO.

I'm within 2 points of Gold Status. I use the iPhone app while my wife uses the card.

It is Pike Place.
