Even if the OP is correct, two different cases for $30? Basically $15 each and I like them both to keep!

Never expected a full refund to my credit card in the first place. If they charge me for it, that's cool by me. Not like Apple is charging me TWICE. I just look it at as a buy one case, get another one free deal.

*shrugs*

Whatever happens, happens.

I paid 300 dollars for a phone I expected to work. It doesn't work like advertised. By all means they owe me something

They owe you the opportunity to return it if you think it doesn't work as advertised.

Wait, what's that? You can return it? Case closed.

Wrong...they owe you nothing....return the phone if you are so unhappy. If you keep it you accept the issues and cant complain.

I received an email saying my bumper had been refunded. I then downloaded the app and chose the Incase snap case. I later received a conformation email of my receipt with $0.00 being my total. To answer your question, yes. Yes I do.

To all you people complaining that ANYONE is ripping Apple off, try asking someone that works at Best Buy how much they pay for accessories. The cost to make vs. the actual price will surprise you.

Regardless if it's a 3rd party case or not, Apple isn't going to be shuffling out full price cases or bumpers to ANYONE. They didn't pay anywhere CLOSE to what we would of had to. What may seems like a couple million bills to you is couch change to a company like Apple.

Wow, such rationalizing.

Someone had posted a thread a few days ago that they felt it was wrong to accept a free case or refund. That Apple should never have had to make the offer. I did not agree with that person's position - Apple chose to implement the free bumper program, and they did it in such a way that wouldn't discriminate.

But this is different - it's just common sense that says it should be one case to one phone. Period. From the reports here it looks like I'm wrong about that - but, it's going tonbe a which until anything ships, so who knows what will happen.

I bought my bumper in store and ordered a free one. Yes, I then got the refund email. As soon as the money gets to my account, I'm going to cancel the free order.

How about it, who's with me?

ehh, not me.

Apparently Apple says I can go ahead and get a free case. Even though I received a refund for my Bumper.

Received 2 emails yesterday regarding refunds on the 2 bumpers I bought.

Just now received another email from Apple offering me a free bumper/case with instructions as to how to go about ordering it. Got the same email as the poster 2 posts above this one.

I just got that email as well. After I received emails earlier today about refunds for the 2 bumpers I have already. I thought it was interesting that thus far though don't seem to be cross referencing anything. At this point, it looks like there will be tons of people taking advantage of Apple.

My only issue with the whole thing is that this overload may delay the people that really do need them from getting them.

I never had an issue with my phone, I got the bumper because I thought it was the only case that wouldn't take away from the sweet design of the phone.

If it doesn't work you may return it and buy an android or some other phone that serves your needs.

Apple are only thinking about their bottom line, why aren't you?

My bottom line? I paid $35 for a bumper and it is being refunded. Seems to me my bottom line is intact.

And getting two bumpers fixes the problem?

Sorry to disappoint but mark ups are a fact of life in every product. Sometimes a very high one. If you don't want to pay it then don't buy it. Nobody owes you a fair price. Buy yourself a Kin, they are almost free for the taking.

I've had a Meritline soft silicone Iphone 4 case on the phone since day 1. I didn't even bother opening the boxes with the bumpers that came a week later (one day apart..first black, then blue).

Not sure I will even use the bumpers, to be honest.

Don't be so sure of yourself. I was te joke of macrumors for a while when the phones were shipping. Take it from me. S'hit happens.

What I'm curious about is that both my iTunes ID that I have my iPhone set up with, and my auto MobileMe ID email's both received the email to get a free case. I downloaded the app on my phone with my normal yahoo account that I had long before MobileMe. I guess I don't know how to change my iTunes account on my phone, and since this will be my 2nd free bumper (first was compensation for return issues) I don't see the need for another (3rd) black bumper.

Just curious if anyone else received multiple email's, while only having 1 iphone 4?

Trust me, you won't. If you paid for a bumper you will get a refund. If you also ordered a bumper or case with the case app, that will either be cancelled or you will be charged for it.

Do you really think that Apple can't cross-reference these things to determine what you're actually entitled to? And SHAME on those who are bragging about how they are getting more than one, as if Apple wants them to have it.

Nuff said.

Yes, I can.

Got 4 e-mails confirming 4 refunds for 4 Bumpers purchased from Apple.com. And 1 e-mail confirming 1 free Belkin Shield Micra obtained via the Free Case app.

So,

"Neaner Neaner Neaner!!!"

Bingo. These are ultra high margin items. Figuring out how to cross reference refunds to people who never had a case is about 100% more than these cases cost. Why do you think everyone and their brother manufactures a case? Because they cost literally next to zero to make. The shipping costs more than the product. Lets not sweat it or argue over it, Apple isn't.

It's pretty sad that some of the people here are actually proud of knowingly defrauding Apple. It's one thing to get refund(s) for one or more bumper(s) without asking for the refund, but it's morally wrong to request a free case AFTER receiving the refund. It doesn't matter how much it cost Apple to make these or that you wrongly feel that they OWE it to you. And what's even more sad is that some of you are probably proud that you cheated Apple. Well at least those that cheated Apple can finally shut the heck up and stop whining. Karma's a b*tch.

The way I see it, they should have made a phone that truly works by itself.

Oh and they should have also made the phone MUCH less desirable and worse then any Android phone so it couldn't be comparable.
