I don't smoke and I don't like to be around the smoke.

but from a Biblical standpoint there is nothing wrong with it (other than it is unwise). so if anyone says its a sin, they are wrong.

so smoke away, but please not where i have to breath it.

You judge whether something is good or bad on how it is viewed in the bible? What happened to people thinking for themselves?

I am a Christian and I do believe the the Bible should influence how we view the world. but that is not my point.

What I am actually saying is that the fundamentalist Christians are wrong. They say smoking is a sin, along with drinking (the Bible condemns drunkenness, not drinking). But the Bible does not say that so they have no authority to claim that smoking is wrong.

smoke or don't smoke, it's your choice. its not a moral issue.

You could argue 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says otherwise. But other then that, I'm not sure smoking is ever directly mentioned a sin.

Occasionally I'll smoke, but not tobacco ;)

It's probably just a high school thing, but it's nice sometimes to just completely forget about everything around you. Of course, about an hour later, you're tired and realize you just wasted a bunch of time...but it sure was fun :p

No I don't smoke. Smoking is not a good habit, that i have learn!

It is said that passive smoking is also harmful to health, as we some times inhale the smoke which goes into our body. Thus affecting our lungs. So If you don't smoke than its a good habit :) but by being a passive smoker you will be on high risk of cancer and other related diseases. So next time when a person near you smokes, say NO to him because that its your right to keep you in good health always.

I don't think it does. Just like when the bible says not to get a tattoo (Leviticis 19:28) , it's not actually saying to not get a tattoo, its saying don't be or be like pagans with the example of tattoos given. It all has to be taken in context. At least that's my take on it.

However; "Smoking is so bad." __ "How bad is it Jay?" __ "Smoking is so bad that it'll cause more diseases than you can shake a cancerstick at."

wow. thank you for that.

Nope! Not this guy. However, I did chew Copenhagen for 15 years or so. I think thats worse than smoking. One can equals 66 cigarettes, nicotine wise. Horrible habit! I quit cold turkey in 2002 and have not looked back.

I don't smoke. Every once in a while (maybe once a year), I might have a stogie with some friends.

I smoked these a couple times when I was in college (maybe 1 or 2 packs), but that was the extent of it.

Even tho the bible don't say not to smoke, Many people feel that smoking is not taking care of the body God has given you. Not a God given law, but a personal choice because that's one why they want to honor God,in the same way as drinking, other drugs, etc..

Never have smoked. My parents (both smokers) really stressed on not smoking. Once when I was 8, my dad (who smoked Camels non-filted) let me try a puff because I asked. One puff and I was gagging and coughing. That convinced me to never try again.

Luckily, when I was a teenager, none of my friends smoked so there was no peer pressure.

Tried cigarettes before; not as bad I expected; I smoked a pack in a day; that was the extent of my smoking experience; I'll never do that again.
