I bring my iPad Mini 2 with me on the bus. I download manga/eBooks and read it that way, or play games.

I do take my iPad Air 2 out once in a while, but I've found that when I have grading to do, or other work, such as tweaking graphics for online courses, or doing basic page tweaking in a program like Dreamweaver, it's just a whole lot easier to use my 13 " MacBook Pro (or Macbook Air before that), than an iPad. I actually think this is my last iPad....

IpT and Galaxy s4 are the devices that are always with me since they fit in my pockets. I only take the Air on shorter vacations

I carry my iPad Mini with me about 90% of the time. It lives in a LifeProof case so it's not as easy to carry, but I've a backpack built for a laptop and tablet combination.

My iPad Air 2 goes everywhere with me. I use it for meetings at work as well as on my lunch break. I use my iPad most of the time at home, but also have a MacBook Pro. I'm going on vacation in 4 weeks time & will be away for 6 weeks. It will be interesting since it's the first time that I plan on keeping the MacBook at home & only use my iPad & iPhone for that length of time.

just wondering those who take theirs out and about and not just at home? do you think it's at the size that you can take it about or do you feel it's too big for that and you use yours just at home?
Yes. Always. Being a guy, i take my rMini with me because it fits the back pocket of my shorts and thats all i wear. My 94 mile commute daily is filled with traffic woes and my job is restrictive on internet use. Once in a while I'll take the Air.
In the winter, I wear long (big boy) pants. I buy a brand that permits back pocket carry.
I have carried it 24/7's since the Mini one was introduced. i cant wait for the rMini 4.

For work yes, it's my sole computer, and goes with me everywhere to all my customers, more at to have everything I need always on one device anytime.

I usually use my iPad at home or the office and school, so it's kind of on the go but still mostly used in a sit-down setting. However, I took my iPad mini to the Dodgers game this past Friday night just to check out highlights on MLB.TV again and check in on other games between innings with friends. First time I've done that and it was pretty fun. Wifi was surprisingly reliable at the ballpark too.

It's with me probably 80% of the time, including to work everyday. I just use a Fintie brand folio case that works perfectly.

I take an iPad Air with me to anywhere I go - FaceTime, Netflix, FaceBook, and I tweeted too much....

I used to take my iPad Mini with me everywhere until I got the iPhone 6 Plus.....now I am fine leaving the iPad Mini at home and just going out with the phone unless I think I'll be doing a lot of emailing and checking forums, etc. Interestingly, though, I have found that I am just as happy carrying my iPad Air 2 with me on those occasions instead of the Mini, and it seems to have become the device of choice overall. This fall, I have the feeling that I'll end up getting a new iPad Air 3 but not necessarily bothering with the iPad Mini 4.

No offense but I find it weird if people just use their iPad at home. For home usage I have PC/laptop.

I use my iPad out on my deck in warm weather and also for reading in bed -- it's much easier to handle either the iPad Mini or the iPad Air 2 in bed than it is a laptop. Rarely do I bother taking the rMBP out on the deck, although I have a couple of times when there was something I needed to do with it that cannot be handled by the iPad.

Since I got my Air 2 with cellular connectivity I always take my iPad with me. It's pretty much my main computer right now.

I take my iPad to class for notes/powerpoints/pdfs, and to work. Everywhere else I just use my phone.

I bring my iPad Air and MBA with me all the time. I use the iPad until I need to write a long paper, code, or edit photo/video/audio. The iPad works for about 80% of what I do.

I take my Air 2 when I'm going to be planted somewhere for a little while like my girlfriends or friends. If I do t think I'm going to be using it I won't bring it. I don't want it just sitting in my car or something for any length of time.

My iPad is my only computer so it goes with me to work every day. But otherwise I typically just go out with my 5S.

Different strokes for different folks

I've heard of one person use it as a gaming device, but nothing much else. Does everything else on laptop/desktop
Another person only uses it for internet and media consumption
Some folks like computing on a couch (or on the toilet :\ ), so a tablet like the iPad works.

Me, I like browsing, sending resumes, dealing with Office files, and writing programming code on a PC. Nice, large 28" screen, mouse, and keyboard. Some games are only for PC, and even when I have a choice, paying more $$ for the PC/Steam version means I won't have to deal with the freemium version that iOS often gets.
For tablets, I'd use them on road since I can't take my desktop with me.

I for one don't have a PC at home
For folks who were paying attention to PDAs and handheld electronic devices back around 1995 to 2005, there was Palm OS. Many on the forums said when they got their Palm handhelds, they wanted to explore, download, and use many different apps for them. However, Wifi and wireless internet weren't really common, so they bought a desktop computer as an accessory to these PDAs so they can download those files, and then hotsync it over to their Palms! Quite a shift of paradigm there!
