No offense but I find it weird if people just use their iPad at home. For home usage I have PC/laptop.

There are a lot of times when you want to be portable, or want to take up less space. An iPad is a great solution for that. Oh, almost forgot - did you ever try to rest a laptop on the display of a stationary bike or elliptical?

I used to always take mine with me but since having my 13" MBA + 6Plus combo I don't really see a need any more.

I usually take my iPad 3 and iPod Touch with me wherever I go. My HP laptop however stays at home unless I'm going to either Starbucks or the Volcano eCig / Internet cafe.

How do you use your iPod Touch? I mean, it doesn't have cellular data, so do you use it just for listening to music in the go?

I take my ipad air 2 anywhere where it would be appropriate to use. It comes with me daily to work, or anywhere where I will have time to sit down and use it at some point. If I will be walking/standing a lot or entertaining then I will leave it at home.

anybody got any good cases for when you are on the go or like a sleeve case?

I have an iPad with me almost always. I always have a messenger bag with me - iPad, Rhodia webnotebook, pens, very often a camera, etc., (Chapman bag or Rickshaw iPad Zero bag) work or just out running errands, I use the iPad to stay connected, read, work on projects, etc. I use Rickshaw sleeves for the most part.

I carry all my devices with me to school. iPhone 6, iPad Air 2, 13" rMBP. They each have strengths, and its nice to have them all so I know I am covered in almost every situation.

Almost always have one iPad with me, sometimes two. I only use my phone as a phone.

I have a great STM iPad bag, which fits two, and I can slip the super light Logitech Keys to Go keyboard in the back. The iPad Air 2 with just a Smart Cover and the keyboard in this is almost weightless. Even adding the iPad Air 1 in a keyboard case doesn't make this heavy.

Or, in another STM bag, when needed I can carry my MBPr and one iPad.

I always carry the iPad Air2/LTE so I can have Internet without relying on public wifi. I'm a writer and if I am writing on the go I take either the MBPr or the wifi only iPad in a keyboard case for that.

Usually I'll take my Mbp or my iPad, but never both. I just don't feel comfortable carrying around all my expensive gear.

That's good then

I've got the Smart Cover but don't like not covering the back
I've got the brown smart case and the yellow smart cover but sometimes I go just use a clear cover on the back and put it in a neoprene slip as I want to see the gold colour.

My iPad Mini Retina (64GB, LTE) comes with me often, especially if I'm going to something like a doctor appointment.

just wondering those who take theirs out and about and not just at home? do you think it's at the size that you can take it about or do you feel it's too big for that and you use yours just at home?

I just have the wi if version so no but even if I did have the cellular version still would need a family share package in order to use it freely as I wanted to. In a perfect world if I could use my own cellular data I'd take it out more.

My iPad Mini Retina goes everywhere with me.
In a BookBook when commuting and for carrying around with me, if I don't take a bag and when travelling, it goes in my Zagg keyboard folio.

I find it great and tend to use my iPhone less for anything other than iMessage/text and phone calls.

I always take it with me to work. Basically at work I use it as my private computer in case I need one.

I only bring along my iPad Mini 2 on longer trips actually - like vacations. It is not a part of my EDC. There is no need for this since I have got my iPhone and Mac.
