Up to you. If insurance is generous, just go caseless. Life is too short to worry about a somewhat replaceable device.

Really up to you! I use a very thin case that is kinda rubberized just for the grip and scratch protection. A make iPhone is way too slippery for me.

Completely up to you, I’d use a case myself especially considering how huge the camera bump is. Sometimes go caseless at home with my iPhones but not when out and about.

don't use a case... Apple spent hundreds of millions on designing
a beautiful phone and you want to cover it up forever?

also don't buy or use insurance, not worth the money or the time....
just buy another iPhone 14 Pro from the nearest Apple Store when
yours break. (hopefully by the time it happens, they'll have plenty
in stock) Life it too short to worry about insurance.

You could find a middle ground similar to what I do:

Caseless to appreciate its beauty at the office, at home inside, out for short trips to store.

Put in a cheap $5 case that is higher than camera and screen to protect it on a freak accident drop when doing any yard work, outdoor projects, hikes, camping, basically any scenario that it absolutely would not survive an accidental drop because I can’t focus much on not dropping it, or I need to place it on surfaces that aren’t clean and level and the phone would get scratched.

And if you have insurance, even better! Don’t need to worry about breaking…

But, I would imagine there’s a deductible.. and even if not, it’s very easy NOT to ever drop the phone if you are consciously thinking about keeping a good hold on it.

This is what I decided to do. I feel nervous using it while I walk and do activities where it could easily drop and get scuffed or break.

While I'm sitting at my desk, in bed, or eating a meal I can use it without a case.

I got the Pitaka one. It costs more than I'd like to spend but the reviews are good and it's lightweight and thin (so they say.) Hopefully it meets the mark.

Using mine caseless, but have a screen protector because I cannot stand scratches. I do have AppleCare+.

That’s the worst Advice ever. Hope no one takes it seriously.

Caseless since launch. Just have screen and lens protectors.

Wondering if silver model has any clear coating on the frame? My 11pro seemed to get micro scratches easily, but this 14 pro max still looks like brand new! (To me)

I have used a Otterbox Defender and cheap screen protector for years. Primary reason was before I retired I worked in a industrial environment and I have dropped phones in some wild places. Cased for me but your mileage will vary

Always go with Apple leather case. Cheap insurance and it feels better in the hand anyway.

I do love the Apple leather case for the reasons you said. But given my main gripe is the form factor being larger and heavier than I'm used to, I wanted to pick a case that was thin and light weight. I saw on Youtube some and just ordered one. Hopefully it is in fact as thin and lightweight as they said

If your phone has a glass back, you’ll likely need a case. It’s not like the good old days of the iPhone 5, 5S, 6, 6S, SE and 7 where you could drop them and expect only minor cosmetic damage.

I've never been using a case since my X. That's what AppleCare is for and also it feels and looks SO much nicer without a case...

A screen protector and thin case or a skin is what I use. Protects the phone from scuffs and scratches whilst maintaining a low physical profile...though I appreciate not everyone is comfortable using a phone without a case (for fear of dropping their phone).
