I’ve decided not to go with the Apple leather case after reports from users that the leather quality has not been the same (worse) since the iPhone 12.

You don’t experience any of those problems?

Leather cases are the best to hold imo and simply love how they kind of “repair” themselves after some minor damage.
I haven’t had any problems with my cases peeling, cracking, or tearing.

I don’t have a 14 Pro, but about a month ago I decided to use my 13 Pro case-less and I haven’t looked back. I have a screen protector so I lay my phone face down to avoid scratching camera lenses. I plan to upgrade to the 15 Pro Max and will run that case-less as well. Also have AppleCare+ for major accidents.

Never used AC+ with my phones or devices before. But when I went from XS to 14 Plus, I said “meh, what the hell” and just added it in. For how cheap it is when it’s rolled into the device purchase, you might as well. My intent with my devices is to try and squeeze as much use out of them and not upgrade until the 4 year mark, so having AC+ for the first 2 years is a good buffer. Also using the clear MagSafe case for iPhone 14 Plus, but I probably should have opted for something a little more textured. This thing is a wet bar of soap 😂😂😂

I always rock a case and glass screen protector, not because I drop my device a lot because I have yet to smash an iPhone screen or back, but mainly for the extra grip, also the screen protector and case ensures far higher resale value.

Yeah never understood people who said they don't need a case because they have Apple Care. AC doesn't cover cosmetic damage like scratches, and I like my iPhone to look pristine for the longest time possible. And even for accidental damages, the fee you have to pay for only one accident is higher than a very good quality case. They have different purposes, and having both a case and Apple Care is the ultimate combo to protect your iPhone, because Apple Care will not be helpful for anything that is not an accidental damage or an hardware failure

I use a case all the time. In fact, I have about 14 different cases and I change them out often for a different look and feel. I might want leather for half a day, then swap it out for the OtterBox defender pro etc. Having multiple cases keeps the iPhone looking fresh and different. Why did I buy so many cases??? Well because I can. It’s a hobby. Right now I’m rocking a Kate Spade clear / with design case that shows off the gold iPhone nicely. Later I’ll change it to something else. I also have a few leather pouches or sleeves for the iPhone that look great. Toro is the brand from Amazon. But when the iPhone is removed from the pouch, it’s still naked and I have to be careful. I use them sometimes. I definitely will use a case on the iPhones that I have. Both were expensive, both gold with 1TB of storage. I’ll protect my investment for sure.

I also use a screen protector. I use the Mothca anti glare glass (Amazon for $8.99) and they are fantastic. The bare iPhone glass screen scratches so easily it’s unreal. My mom just got here 14 pro and she waited for me to come over and install the glass for her. The iPhone already had hairline scratches on it from being handled for a couple of days. Always use glass.

I use my 14 Pro Max caseless. I am super happy with the display glass since the 12 so I don't use a screen protector either.

Gone are the days my iPhone displays would scratch or the back glass from putting it down on a table. Hope Apple keep this up as iPhone's are the only phones I use without a case.

I decided to purchase AppleCare+ protection. It is $9.99 a month and I can cancel anytime. Yes I am now using my iPhone 14 Pro without a case.

Needed; yes cause it’s an expensive phone but if you have insurance why not. I sometimes go caseless like 40% of the time. Sometimes it’s more comfortable to hold the 14 with a case then without.

Invest in good quality tempered glass and cover, at least from spigen and up. Else have it insured or buy apple care which are more expensive options

This is the best glass that I have used to date! The anti-glare is fantastic. This link is for the 14 pro max… they are made for

Naked is the way completely.
Well that’s cool! How do you protect the cameras from scuffs as the camera bump is way out there? Most iPhone 14 pro owners don’t care much about the cameras or how to use them properly. Don’t drop it! I guess going caseless means you have iPhone replacement money. Similar to the way speeders have ticket money.

I’d go caseless if putting my 14 PM flat on a table means that the bottom lens is also on the table. 🫣

I’d always get a screen protector though. You can’t even tell you have one.

I use a frameless case and screen protector + I have AppleCare+. I rather have the protection and not have to waste my time going to an Apple Store for the screen to be replaced. My time is worth more.

Can you all imagine a compilation of every “case or no case” mega thread on this forum. It’d be huge. 😂

I am clumsy. I use a case to protect against scratches. I don’t have AppleCare and even if I did, the things that I use a case to protect against are not covered by AppleCare. I suppose it is possible that my phone might slip out of my hand some day and break on the ground and that I might regret that decision. But the case will make that less likely both because the case protects from drops and because it is the Apple silicone case and it is grippy. And I have only dropped a phone once. It was my Note 20 Ultra and it survived the fall unscathed. So I’m clumsy in a knock the phone against a door way but not in the drop the phone way.

I have always had cases on my phones, going right back to the flip phone days. I have never had a phone broken in all of that time. The only time I have ever had to get a phone replaced was a Galaxy Note 8, and that was because of a swollen battery. I usually don’t even have any scratches on my phones by the time they reach their end of life. Not that it matters because I always trade them in, instead of trying to sell them.

I couldn’t tell you what any of my friends do because I don’t pay attention. Hell, the only way I know who has an iPhone is by the text bubbles. What I do notice is that when I see people out in public, more people than not have cases on their phones.

I would like to use mine without a case. I have insurance through my credit card incase it breaks. Thoughts?
The decision is yours to make. Personally, I chose this case and a tempered glass screen protector. Good protection but minimalistic as well. I’m extremely happy.

If $1000 is a lot of money to you and is more than you’d find as spare change in the back of your couch, then yes, you may want to protect your investment with a case.

No one is looking at your caseless Iphone and saying how beautiful it is. I know it is a preference and you can do what you want. When I see a 1000 dollar or more Iphone without a case I think to myself you will regret it later. I drop mine here and there and have NEVER gone without a case. That is just me though.
