Most likely likely price stays the same if iPhone 11 is the same style

This doesn’t make any sense, why would the style change of an iPhone? It’s exactly the same as it was for the iPhone X, the XS and likely the same for the iPhone 11. Generally all smart phones have the same ‘style’. And I’m not seeing how the price point would be relevant of that.

That’s the power of the Apple brand I suppose. Consumers who don’t follow technology trends won’t have a clue until it appears on the iPhone and that helps save Apple a lot of money. It doesn’t push them to deliver competitive spec devices which is sad for those of us who do follow tech though so I won’t defend them on that.
Oh I’m definitely not defending them. They lost me in 2013 when their screen sizes weren’t keeping pace. But at the moment, they’re not falling short in any way that matters to me.

Unless this Tariff back and forth crap stops I don’t see a no increase situation. Tim won’t absorb it. I also believe it will be a follow the leader scenario. Once one manufacturer increases pricing for the Tariff Tax others will quickly follow. :apple:

I'll just keep my phone even longer than I normally would.

And....that’s exactly what Apple doesn’t want you or others to do. They want the mind-set of the consumer to want to upgrade. That’s why they need to make changes in their pricing strategies/trade-in incentives. I’m actually more interested to see what they offer for trade-in versus the actual iPhone this fall.

I’m more interested in the Apple Watch series 5 this year as my series 2 is ready for an upgrade. Apple just don’t seem to realise that they could be making themselves much more popular by adopting the old pricing structure. There’s just no incentive on iPhones to upgrade if your current iPhone is working ok. The difference in features is just not enough of a pull and tech people on the internet seem oblivious to it.

Only problem with trade in issue is those of us on the IUP will not get the trade in reduction. I hope they don’t see IUP as guaranteed sales, I can handle same price but another price increase would have to be accompanied by a significant new feature. The just a little better for more plan will have me keeping my phone for another year I suspect.

They're playing a dangerous game of trying to have it both ways.

They want us to continue to upgrade yearly, and make fat margins off higher prices.

People are not going for the former, hence the decline in sales.

IMO Apple has no choice but to come correct with pricing come September.

I don’t know man, I think they are expecting that on the avg a user will upgrade every 3-4 years. Along with global declining sales. That is why the price is so high now. Whatever the reason, it’s too much. I mean they still give us a 5 watt charger in the $1500 box we just bought. Ugh, I’m hoping sales keep dropping and new Strachey gets put in place. Not a better trade in since I sell mine anyways.

Nah I hear you... Whatever happens I think we're rapidly approaching some sorta watershed moment concerning the iconic iPhone.

We've seen what happens when companies (Nokia) "insist" on having it their way. I would really be surprised if Apple doesn't make adjustments.

THE MARKET ALWAYS WINS!!!

I sure hope so! Come on market, buy every 5 years!

They’ll probably increase prices by 30% to maintain revenue

This doesn’t even make sense. By Your theory, increasing the iPhone net price by 30% would _not_ increase the revenue, they already are on a decline, so how would that increase anything if iPhone sales are not on par with they were in the past? (Not to mention, China’s economy can’t sustain the 30% increase, especially when Apple actually lowered the price of the iPhone in China do the VAT)

Maintaining/decreasing the iPhone price is next moving forward, let alone focusing on the trade-in incentives for the consumer.

I don't see anything special on the iPhone 11...

Cameras don't really matter to me much since the iPhone XS already takes hell of a pictures....

I do not think that the Apple will reduce prices, on the contrary, will raise prices for a new product , slightly, but will rise because loyal customers will still buy regardless of price.

Loyal customers that have been purchasing Apple products for years, don’t see the value necessarily just in the product, they find that it’s a higher quality product that works to their expectations. Nobody just purchases Apple products blindly without at least seeing what separates Apple products from the competition. And in that same affect, take in consideration, ‘loyal customers’ want to stay in Apples ecosystem, and sometimes you pay a higher premium for a better product.

They could achieve a great lineup if they keep selling XR and XS at lower prices next to a new 11 and XR, unlike this year when they killed the X and introduced XR at a not-actually-that-low price point. When they do this, prices of 11 could very well increase although I don't know why they'd do that aside from the tariffs or whatever political drama may occur.

Not a worry for me really but I wouldn’t expect Apple to decrease. That would be pretty stupid for them. I expect an SE type phone when iPhone 7/8 get too old to sell anymore.

Hell no. I wouldn't even be surprised if they increase the price of the 11 max (or whatever they end up calling the top of the line) model this year.

Apple does not make a better product, anymore. They just stopped caring about leading in inovation. Deep down nobody cares how it looks cause most use a case. I have got them every year since the IP4 and if the price goes up on the 11 I’m done and will finally move on. They have no respect for the consumer, just their bottom line.

Actually they do make a better product, with more expensive components that can’t be found in any android device. If apple is too expensive for you should definitely get a cheaper android device.

But I was under the impression that you had already switched away from the iPhone.
