That's one that I just don't understand at all. Why do people not plug their phones in at night? The electricity costs to charge a phone are minuscule, and you end up with a fully charged battery every morning - why wouldn't you? This makes even less sense to me than turning the phone off at night

I don't plug my phone in at night because I use it as a clock and alarm and there's no outlet near my bed. If there was an outlet nearby, I'd certainly plug it in.

It is my alarm clock! I don't dare turn it off haha!

However, every day when I enter work, I lock it in a cubby after having turned it off.

Not allowed cell phones in the offices.

I never turn my phone off and my ex-gf used to get so mad because my friends and family would call. I even tried putting the phone on vibrate and she still got mad.

OK, I guess that makes sense - though if it were me I'd run an extension cord, or leave the phone across the room so you have to get up to shut it off and are less likely to "Snooze" :)

But I have to think that this is not the most common reason :confused:

iphone is never OFF, but it goes into airplane mode everynight - and is used as an alarm clock.

Who wants to sleep with an (active) mobile phone by their head? Regardless of what the scientists say - common sense tells me to try and avoid that if possible.

Apps That Make Life A Little Easier

* Flashlight (I always seem to be losing things in the dark)
* Alarm Clock Pro (hasn't let me down after 2+ years)
* Timetable (forgetful people like me)

Any other apps that make life a bit easier?

I don't use my iPad often to be honest, yet that ****** stays on forever.

So all you guys use airplane mode while flying? I like to save a little battery so turn it off when I fly. Other than that on all the time.

Yes. I also carry a power adapter to charge it on the plane/car so that's not an issue for me.

iPad & iPhone both plugged in and on overnight. iPhone is my alarm and I have an app on my iPad that helps me sleep.

No, but I used to turn it off sometimes just for a couple hours at least a couple times per week.

Now I just turn it off for a few minutes sometimes and then when I recharge it, the phone comes right back on. I don't really use my phone all that much anymore. My phone is usually on airplane mode and batt life only goes down 1-2% overnight, so emergency calls in the middle of the night will have to come through the landline. My iP4 probably only gets charged twice per week at most when it used to be every day or every other day. And it is usually used as an iPod and not as web browser or video player. I have other phones and rotate the workload. So I don't abuse the hell out of the phone like my early days that I do NOT care of turning it off like I used to.
