Never used a case. Now I just use Amex phone coverage which is a $50 deductible for up to $800 twice a year as long as you just pay your cell phone bill on the amex. Used to buy the AppleCare but didn't use it once in previous two years so going without.
Did not know about this, and I already pay my bill with Amex. Slipping AppleCare this year…thank you!

I just use Apple's silicone back case. It's not bulky and feels better in hand. I've tried 3rd party silicone cases, but they seem to age quickly and doesn't have the same feel.

Typically no. I've owned most generations of the iPhone since OG iPhone, and only dropped my phone 4 times. Once on concrete (iPhone X).

I've never smashed front or back glass touchwood. Although now that i've put this out there i expect this record will now go south.

I use a screen protector and skins instead.

Again, just at work. I like my Ringke case, just waiting for my 17PM Cosmic Orange 256GB.

If you're dropping more than $100 for a case and tempered glass, why not just get Apple Care+?

I used to go caseless with the 4-6s and around the time I got the 7, I started using cases. This year I thought about going caseless, but after seeing dents and scratches all over the web on the Pros, I am in a case now. If I had gotten the Air, I don’t think I’d be in a case.

AppleCare+ doesn’t cover cosmetic damage; only serious issues that impact the phone’s functionality, like cracked glass. On top of that, I don’t have the time to drop everything and head to the Apple Store at short notice. At the end of the day, these are tools, not fashion statements. That’s why I always use a case and screen protector, and I’ve never had a single issue with damage on any of my previous phones.

I rotate between a Jetech storm blue case and an ESR clear case.

I also have an Apple Storm Blue silicone case an a Rhinoshield case; I haven't used those 2 in a while though.

The Rhinoshield is a bit thick and its edges are sharp they hurt my fingers lol.

I feel like my phone gets hotter easily in clear cases vs other cases, I could be wrong though lol.

I took delivery of my new iPhone Air on Friday and ordered a new PITAKA carbon fiber MagSafe case for it this morning.

I have a PITAKA carbon fiber case on my 15 Pro Max and it has done a great job keeping this phone in pristine condition over the years so choosing this brand for my new iPhone was an easy decision.

Even with the 17PM I’m not going to use a full case. I have a MagSafe Süti (shipping issues) and Matter phone back that have been shipped out that will only cover the back of my 17PM. I have a glass back protector and glass plateu protector installed along with my bumper temporarily. I would love to go back to just using skins since I have AppleCare+. I hate using cases that cover the whole device.

I did put a screen protector on at first, but it completely ruined the aesthetic, made it look thicker, it completely cancelled out the anti glare coating & had tonnes of fingerprints and smudges.

It is now completely naked, looks & feels way better.

If I start seeing scratches & scuffs then I’ll consider putting one back on, maybe try and find an anti glare one.

Looks like this protects the camera too?

Not worth it for me.

The extra size (even when minimal) and the extra "ugly" isn't worth it vs. just maintaining AppleCare+.

If I was regularly scratching/cracking/denting the phone I'd rethink that, but I haven't scratched one, much less done worse to it, since the original iPhone (and it was the case that scratched that!). So at this point, I don't even think about it.
