I went from using a Peel ultra thin case (with a screen protector) to the Apple bumper for my iPhone Air. At some point with either of these I got a scratch on the camera bump, which neither of these cases protect. I figured the phone won’t be in perfect condition ever again and removed the case/bumper entirely and I'll be trying it without for a while.

I originally intended to use my Air like this when I bought it, but wanted some kind of protection for my new $1000 device. I like it case-less and without a screen protector so much, I’m tempted to use my other devices like that too. Wear and tear adds a little bit of character.

Yes I do. In fact I have many different cases for each phone I have. I like to dress the phone up with a different case every few days. I have the 17 pro max & Samsung S26 ultra phones, so large investments in cases. I favor the Monarch Pro series from UAG.

I've done that in the past - owned several cases for one phone to keep its look fresh. Nowadays, I use an Otterbox Defender for my 16e, and trade out different colors of the outer shell. I like your choice of UAG cases -- they look awesome and have a rep for being extremely protective.

Going through a phase of using a case triggered by a drop whilst leaving the house with my Air, luckily it fell house side onto laminate flooring with no damage and not the concrete paving outside! Which may have chipped & scratched the metal frame.

I went with the Mous aramid fibre case which is just 1mm thick so it doesn’t add much bulk to the Air at all, and genuinely feels like there isn’t a case on with a slim and sleek look. It feels great in the hand and it’s the thickest case I’m willing to put on the Air.

I have just went with an Apple silicon case as I have scrapped the leather I got from Ryan London as the quality is simply garbage this year compared to previous years. The leather started peeling off in tiny bits after just one month.
I sent an email and got a lame excuse back so they have lost a customer in the future.

Yes on my iphone air i use a Pitaka case, i have sweaty hands and they get worse when holding things for a short while.

It makes any phone to slippery for me to hold.

And resell value of my iphones, scratches and dings simply make me lose more money on the device then necessery.

My iphone 15 pro traded for 525 euro after 2 years in a case not a single scratch or dent.
I basically used the phone for 250 euro per year, a 21 euro a month.

I plan to do the same with the Air however the air currently has a resell value of 525~ euro and unlike the 15 pro that is now almost 3 years old it looks like the case only going to help me for my sweaty hands as the resell value for the next 2 years will be very low.

I have Apple care , my first iphone without a case. Every single time i touch that thing is a pleasure like touching a unknown woman's flesh
Interesting.. i have apple care also, but depending on if you have a Apple Store in your area or not, apple care is going to be a hassle no matter what, because you're going to be without a phone depending on how bad the damage is for a little while. I like using a case on all of my phones all the time but sometimes take them off when I'm at home to enjoy the phone that way. I know it's not going to get damaged there. I have apple care for battery or hardware issues and not really for drop protection.

For me, I just get bored with a plain iPhone with no case, I enjoy dressing it up differently depending on how I want to display it. There are many case options out there that make the iPhone and other Android phones look really cool.. A Casseless, iPhone for me is a hazard because my hands tend to be dry and it's always slippery. For\n My 17 Pro Max, I am currently using a back, which is a magsafe, clear plastic back made by Matter on the phone, so it still gives me a caseless feel with some protection. You should try that. It's pretty cool.

The thing is, the case is pretty good protection, not phone invincible protection despite what the Mous people say. Your phone could land face down on jagged rocks. That happened to a co-worker of mine.

Not saying it's a bad idea. And everyone has different tastes and worries. I just don't think it's any better than AppleCare+

Any case is going to offer some form of protection as it’s an extra layer on your iPhone. The thickness and material will determine just how much.

As per my post on the previous page, I use Mous’s thinnest 1mm aramid fibre case on my Air which offers minimum protection purely because I didn’t want a thick case on this thin device.

It has a barely there feeling and offers better grip whilst offering a layer of protection.

I also have AppleCare and the last time I used it for damage was with an 11 Pro Max when the back glass smashed. I didn’t even have to go to an Apple Store as express replacement sent me a new device and I sent the damaged one back to Apple.

Lol I'm glad I'm not alone. My plain black 16e has multi-colored case options -- including clear.
